Can't wait to utilize the new stuff on my quad motor. I hope they fixed the sound system as well.

Why not leave the jingle bells in there and just have it unlock by date in December?

Why is the rad tuner only gen2?
I just want traction control off (traction control is active software, every car I have owned from 06 m5 to 15 volt have a simple way to disable it for specific situations, I don’t want to hear about “technical limitations of motor control with Bosch motors”) and zero Regen options (my gen1 already does zero regen if the battery is full so this shouldn’t be more than a few lines of code). Why can’t I have this as a gen1 owner, they are things that should have been active at the beginning, I’m willing to wait, I am not buying another Rivian for a while so there is no sense holding out so i have to buy another. I’ll buy a Sierra next time if things stay the same.

Yea, you also aren't able to turn off ABS. They aren't going to spend the time and effort creating workarounds to disable every feature.

I would also argue that while you can technically not have regen with 100% battery on the Gen 1, you still have the simulated braking on the Gen 1 at 100% unless you disable that too.

Once you turn off simulated braking you realize that with it on, its dragging its brakes way more than it should. Personally Im not a fan of the 4K brakes replacement so never bother with it.

But there is a button to turn it off. I imagine there is an intern that could make those buttons and point them to the appropriate existing software areas. Every other car I have owned with traction control or regen had a way to turn them off, it can’t be super niche and difficult.

Please no Christmas songs. Will gen 1 get the 3.5 million mile mapped roads update in a future release? That would be nice.

Absolutely not. You will never see another meaningful update to Driver+. Rivian Assistant, depending on how much you value it, will be the last meaningful update for the Gen 1 period. And I count the (supposedly) upcoming Launch Mode as insignificant.

We've always been able to turn off traction control, or at least mostly off, just not independently from stability control. If you set the stability control to reduced it definitely lets you spin the tires (at least in snow mode and some of the off-road modes). Turning stability off completely allows for even more fun, in a safe environment.

Hopefully someone will remember to come back to this comment a year from now to see if it really is the "last meaningful update for Gen 1 period."
