I’ve not see info on rim width. 7.5” based on other specs?
The 21in wheel I was looking at said it was an 8" . The different wheel sizes looked like they came from different manufacturers too, because the stamps were different font and size on all of the options. I was going to take a picture, but that's about the time that I saw our flights out that day were screwed.

In that case they are all probably 8” wide.

Those wheel sizes are great news. They are the about the same as the model y. This means it should be easy to find a big selection of aftermarket wheels that will fit.

Pirelli Scorpion MS is an absolutely terrible (and expensive) tire, there are so many better and less expensive options for a solid and quiet all season. Someone at Pirelli must really have some dirt on someone at Rivian.

Not for the R2's 21" option. It is currently the only tire available in 255/55R21 size. And tire retailers don't even have it on their sites yet. R2 Premium and Performance buyers should consider the 20" options, if they have no plans or are unwilling to buy 20" wheels at a later time. 20" for Premium come stock with the same Pirelli MS tire and with no range penalty (and aftermarket alternatives in 255/60R20 are available). 20" option for Performance/LE come stock with slightly larger 255/65R20 BFG Trail Terrain T/A AS/AT hybrid and a reduction in range.

Is there a mistake in the comparison page for R2 on the Rivian website? It says under Premium 20” all season wheels are standard and 21” all season wheels are optional. It then shows the Performance wheel and the square dot wheel from the standard (which is all terrain).
I thought the Premium had the same design as Performance as standard.
The website is correct. The 20" wheel is the standard wheel for the Premium model. It is the square dot wheel, but it is not All terrain. You can see an overview of all the wheel options at 33 min into this video.

Still more tire options at launch on that 20" wheel than the 21". That's my concern.

Since the Premium trim comes standard with 20" all season tires, I don't understand why the Performance trim's option for the 20" wheels wouldn't include an option for the all season tire in addition to the option for the all-terrain tire.

Business decision and profits. High trim has higher profit margin. And they know there is a subset of potential customers who want the most performance, the most "adventure" capability, and the most aesthetic appearance they can buy.

ALL automakers do this. Nothing new.

You can always get the Performance with either tire option and change out the tires/wheels on your own.

There was exactly 1 tire option for the 21" wheel when the R1 launched. There are more now (including an all-terrain option). If there's enough demand, tire manufacturers will step up like they did with the R1 tire size..

It took a good few years for that to to happen, though. For those first few years a new 21" tire was like $450. For a more mainstream vehicle that seems like a poor decision.

Adding the choice of AS vs AT tires on the 20" wheel option does not degrade the higher trim higher profit margin of the Performance trim.
