I've very rarely used my rear wiper on my SUV. Seeing out the rear glass is nice & convenient, but not strictly necessary.

How are we going to keep the rear camera clean? I do not remember anyone saying there is a washer.

Um..... what's the issue?
The wiper goes swish swish and not swoosh swoosh. So it’s swishing when it should be swooshing.

Ideally it wouldn’t be just a swish or just a swoosh but a swish swoosh, but every 3rd swoosh should be a swish. So then it’s a swoosh swish.

I mean come on, it’s right there.

I'm more concern how well the rear glass defrosters works than the rear wiper. I've had two Acura RDXs and Honda Odyssey with rear wipers and I never notice them until I backup with the front wipers on. The rear wiper auto turn on when in reverse and the front wipers are on. Other than that, I almost never use the rear wiper, but the rear defroster, yes, every winter when the snow and ice pileup.

In the several cars I've owned that had rear wipers, the scenario you describe (reversing when front wipers are on) is the only time I've ever had the rear wiper activate. I don't think I've ever manually turned them on.

If you were in a blizzard wouldn't the wiper be on already? So whats the problem? Sorry I know the guy is desperate for clicks, that's it.
Not if your vehicle has been parked outside for some or all of the blizzard and then needed...

The gap between the rear roof top rear spoiler and the roof line where the rear hatch hinges, creates downward flow that help keep the rear window cleaner than R1S. Additionally, the gap reduces base drag.

I thought that the rear wiper implementation is done neatly. I can see, though, if water pools from the rain and gaps freezes overnight, it might have an issue deploying it.

Of course if it's cold, one probably would be conditioning the vehicle first so the rear heat element would be on and the rear window would clear. All else fails, the rear hatch window does roll down - bit chilly but at least it would be clear.

In the 5 years i’ve had my 4runner I’ve probably used my rear wiper 3 or 4 times max. Pine needles are what i’d be most worried about but i’m sure someone will develop something in the aftermarket to address the issue.

This guy is missing another big opportunity for views:

"Rivian second row seating may have a serious problem."

"I wanted to see how the second row is configured for passengers, so I reviewed some pictures, and sure enough, there are seatbelts for a center passenger!!"

Sometimes, conditions arise that impair visibility out of the rear window. Rivian owners just use their side mirrors. Influencers, instead, make a sensationalist video and harvest them clicks.

Ha, ask that question to the first gen Ioniq 5 owners. Vertical rear glass gets messy when driving in inclement weather, mine gets so bad here in MI during winters it would be a hazard if I didn't have my rear wiper/washer...you simply can't see out of it.
The R1T doesn't have a rear wiper and it copes with winter just fine since day one. Defrost button does the work.

Ioniq 5 rear window is nowhere near vertical. But yes, our '22 no-wiper model year car does get filthy.
I also have a 2022 Kia EV6 GT-L FE. It has HUD, trip gauge on the driver screen, a sunroof that opens, media player, AM/FM radio, CarPlay, drive mode changes from the steering wheel - but no rear wiper! Drives me crazy when there is crap on the rear window.

If you drive in snow, dealing with frozen wipers is part of the experience. I guess it has a setting to park outside the wiper hole in winter? Not sure if I am remembering correctly.

What I don't like is that wiper wipes a small part of the glass, like one third. The glass is very short and they had to use a small wiper. Glass is short to allow it to roll down. It also doesn't go all the way down on driver side, because it's sitting in a hole. Another compromise they had to make. Not a big deal, but far from perfect.
