I know some of you out there have had your welded subframe replaced with the cast version.
I've had plenty of creaks and snaps with mine - every time they tell me the subframe is fine - I question if this is really the case.
Recently got to drive a Gen 2 Tri T and the difference is night and day over my usual commute.
I've had the front changed due to a leak in the bags. The jounce lines have been upgraded.
Need help with what else to look out for or easy ways I can verify the welds - rapidly coming up on out of warranty and it would be nice to not rattle, clunk, creak, etc

A lot of that perception is likely because of all the components being brand new too. I noticed it with my R1S Tri when I first got it. But now that it's got some miles on it, it doesn't seem appreciable better than my Gen1 R1S LE anymore.

And with my Gen1 in for service right now, getting a significant amount of the suspension replaced, I'm really curious to see how I feel about the difference again.

Thanks - for sure the newness is playing in mind as well.
Would love to hear your thoughts after your service appointment as well.
Now, I must say that I do far prefer my meridian audio - the tri is hollow. But that's a different thread.

I can't get my SC to replace anything but half-shafts when I go in. They tell me suspension is normal. What are you guys doing differently? lol. Ah well, trading for R2 asap before warranty is out.

My front was sagging badly. Was able to take pictures before and after to show the decrease. They also noticed it even on visual when it went in for that repair. I forget what I mentioned about jounce that got those upgraded.
I don't want the out of warranty "oh, look, just today all these things went bad" conversation myself. I'm hoping I can hold out a bit longer on it - I don't want all the depreciation, but my R2 reservation may be coming in handy. I will have to get behind the wheel of one for sure.

Replacing my front drive unit (twice!) was the last step to solve all my creaks & squeaks. It's now actually quiet for the first time ever and it's awesome!
Anything that you had to push them for to get that done?

Just that there were still abnormal noises. It was extremely easy to reproduce (turn the wheel all the way left and drive forward or back), so they really dug into it to solve it. It has been in there for at least half a dozen visits for the same thing over the years - they'd replace the half shafts and it would get better for a bit (never solved, just not as bad), then the hubs another time. Jounce lines, then half shafts again. I'm not sure what changed this last time (2 visits, actually), but they put the effort in and didn't stop troubleshooting until it was finally resolved.

My 22 Launch edition is currently in for its third set of half shafts, also replacing rear air bags. They also actually warrantied my front tires with only 7K miles on them because they were already bald. This will actually be my third set of front tires. They keep saying it is due to an alignment issue, but each time I get new tires, from Rivian, they do an alignment. I love Rivian and the utility of the R1T, but it eats suspension components and tires (at least mine does) like my first hand built go cart did in the 80s.

Others have said it, but I'm going to emphasize: it's all about reproducing the clicking, popping, or groaning while on the test drive with the technician.

If you can reproduce it and say "my loaner didn't do that" you have a chance.

When Rivian replaced my entire front end it felt better than any loaner (because they typically have terrible alignment). So it's worth the effort.

If all else fails it might be worthwhile to try a different service center (rep roulette).

It still blows my mind we convinced Rivian to honor original pricing on launch quads...
It was my heartfelt letter to RJ I'm sure that was the deciding factor.

To be fair to Rivian, I didn't advocate for a full walk back to OG pricing because Rivian had some huge headwinds to deal with at the time. I instead suggested a sliding increase depending on preorder timing beyond November 2018, all the way to full price for March 2022 or later.

I would have benefited from a June 2019 order, but not as much as the real hardcore amongst us.
