Microsoft Teams. And that is a hill I will die on.

Had AA on my old truck which permitted me to use Teams. It's our main business communication tool for my job, and I have a sickeningly long commute. Being able to see messages pop up on the screen greatly reduced the anxiety over hearing my phone chirp every five seconds and wondering if there was a fire, or if some idiot was just asking the entire office what's for lunch. ?

I'd be happy with Spotify (that doesn't blank out whenever I exit the vehicle), Waze, Zoom, and text integration.

My #1 wish is an efficiency history/prediction app. With lots of (accurate/useful) stats and graphs.

I don't care about range or efficiency most of the time. If there was a setting to remove the battery gauge from the display I would use that setting.

But occasionally (for example road trips) when I do care, and then I want a lot more info than Rivian exposes.

The manual says the range display takes into account your driving history but it clearly doesn't actually do that. And the current efficiency graph is even worse. It is just flat out inaccute because it averages based on time rather than distance.

Rivian should look at what Tesla has in start with that. While there's plenty of room for improvement with Tesla's energy app, it is many orders of magnitude better than what rivian has.

Essential:
  • Waze
  • Apple Music (got this already thankfully)
  • A dedicated podcast app -- Overcast, Pocketcast, Podcast Addict, eg not Spotify
  • Messaging app that supports SMS and iMessage

OR

For the 1000th time, you could just allow CarPlay and not have to worry about app support.
Also for the 1000th time, they’ve said no to CarPlay and explained why…whether or not anyone agrees

Right, and since we don't agree, we'll continue to pressure Rivian to give it to us or have parity with supported apps/content.

It's also really hard to buy their "we think fully integrated infotainment software that is owned by us will provide a better user experience" argument when they're throwing up a $14.99/mo paywall to access the apps they "own".

Just say you want the recurring revenue (and data collection).

Also, better Alexa functionality (As is it’s very nearly useless. Alexa doesn’t understand “Frunk”…. Really???)

A great deal of time and effort has been allocated into marketing Rivian as an "Adventure" brand. And yet there is no way to utilize the two most prominent "Adventure Apps": OnX Offroad and Gaia. There are dozens of offroad/adventure/road trip apps out there for all sorts of people with all sorts of interests, but those are the two primary "adventure" apps world wide. For now, I just rely on my phone and a good dash mount to keep it visible (without blocking any of my view). That gorgeous infotainment system....is sadly just a place to change settings. I am confident that someday...it will reach more of its potential. Im excited to see what is around that next turn. :)
