AS tires in the 275/60R20 Size can net ~2.5 MPK (Grabber HTS60/Defender/AS+3).
Lightweight AT tires in that size can net ~2.2 MPK in All Purpose mode, options below:
2.2 MPK - 8.9" wide Nitto Ridge Grappler (116T) [45 pounds]
2.1 MPK - 9.6" wide Gen. Grabber A/TX (116T) [50 pounds]

At ~2.05 MPK If you want to stay closer to 34" tires, FIRESTONE DESTINATION X/T sounds like what you are looking for, three options too, all LT tires, recommend the OEM size of 275/65 :
FIRESTONE DESTINATION X/T

33.5"34.1"34.6"
9.9"9.4"9.6"
51#52#53#
Awesome! This is exactly what I was looking for! Have you run them before?

Seems to me that the best AT tires for range is the OEM Pirelli
That is not really what I have been finding. Interesting. Plus they don't last

It really does. There are varying results for the grabber, but overall the AS3 gets reported as efficient as it's 21" counterpart. I'm glad at least that others have done their due diligence in testing a ton of different options.

Where are you seeing that? The AS has an 800 tread wear rating and prone consistently trigger 30k miles plus on a set that's been rotated.

What other 34"AT tire did you find that's more efficient? I am interested
Clearly need a dedicated thread on high efficiency 34" tires, will try and get to it this weekend...
here's a preview:

These should all be within close reach of the OEM 20" efficiency (prob. ~2.0 - 2.3 MPK in AP/Conserve)....

LT285/60R20 Destination X/T would prob. be my choice...(2.1 - 2.4 MPK)...if paired with the 25# custom rims it would equal or beat the 20" OEM setup...

No, and haven't been able to find anyone here who has run the X/Ts, so it's entirely possible they don't get great MPK...there's poor test reporting for tires above 50#s...usually they are done in Conserve as users are focused on the higher end of MPK range...tests should be done in All Purpose too...

A dedicated thread for 34" tires would be great. There has been a fair amount of misunderstanding between folks asking questions about 34" tires, then receiving answers referring to 33" tires, and vice versa. Your other thread which specifies 275/60/R20 33" in the title is much appreciated. An equivalent for 275/65/R20 34" tires would be great

I would not want to downsize to a 33. The 34 was one of the reasons we got a Rivian with 20s.
Serious Question. Do you Mind sharing your reasoning? just personal preference/looks?

I mean what does loosing 1" in this context (All Terrains) I figured if the tire is better at AT performance and you could take a better line to compensate with the 1" loss.

Same. The 20" OEM Pirellis look awesome, and IMHO complete the look of the vehicle in a way that no other wheel/tire combo does. 33's on 20's make the wheel look noticeably smaller to a degree that I don't like the look. Just personal preference. My only knock on the Pirellis is they start to get a little noisy after 15k miles or so. We got about 29k out of our first set and just replaced them with a new set.

A combination of looks and off road abilities.
Always better per the community to have more sidewall. My experience aligns with this as well.

Regarding taking a better line sometimes there’s no option except for the hard line assuming that you mean better as in easier. I’ve never gone off roading with the idea of destroying nature or breaking my vehicle.

I haven’t gone off-roading as much as I’d like but I have not seen anything else than lifted Jeeps with 38s where I went. Admittedly I couldn’t finish one of the trails as a real spotter is better than bad quality cameras.

Third, but it goes back to looks, I had a Raptor before this. πŸŽ‰

Agree, can go up to 295/65...tradeoffs and many options spread out between 33-35" sizes:
Sweet spot is ~55#s and 10" width...

IMO, range and AT abilities are opposing characteristics especially for EV. If nothing else, compromises are made at either end of the spectrum to get an all rounder, similar to many All Season tires which are perhaps good at everything but not excellent at say snow or trail.

Range generally tends to mean low weight and low rolling resistance, whereas AT tends to benefit from higher traction and more robust construction which leads to increased weight and higher rolling resistance on pavement. True snow treads also tend to be specialized use.

Many tire manufacturers are trying to focus on new EV offerings including harnessing both range and AT characteristics. Add in heavier EV weight especially for light truck/SUV and it makes it tough to pull off. The Rivian OEM Pirelli Scorpions are an example, with Nokian and others jumping on the EV light truck demand bandwagon. Hopefully they can find some special jou jou for us.

Given the above hoo haa, I'd say it really depends on the driver and what is most important and the most common driving conditions one will find themselves in. In my case here in Colorado, the OEM Pirellis are fine three season sneakers with good range and moderately acceptable AT ability, though they are light and somewhat fragile and are only average for aggressive snow driving. For ski season I've opted to go with another dedicated wheel and winter tireset (Blizzaks), though they will wear quickly on pavement due to softer rubber compound.

YMMV, literally and figuratively. Deep emotional debate here about driving expertise in all of the above conditions demostrate the dilemma.

Looks like it's Firestone Destination X/T for the win, at least 3 sizes that fit, my vote is for 285/65R20 (34.5" and 9.6" wide)...can save 2 pounds if drop down to 33.5" (285/60R20) and it's 9.9" wide...
Better snow performance with the 34.5" (due to height) and better offroad performance with the 33.5" (due to width).

Comparing Destination XT and Dueler AT: https://tiredriver.com/bridgestone-dueler-at-revo-3-vs-firestone-destination-xt/
"...my perspective the Firestone Destination XT features a superior on-road grip when it comes wet and snowy pavements. And off-road it provides better mud, sand and rocky terrain traction. The Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo 3 on the other hand, is much better in terms of dry traction, noise dampening, and fuel economy. Moreover, although by a slight margin, it also gives you longer tread life."

Comparing Destination XT and Toyo OC AT3:
https://tiredriver.com/firestone-destination-xt-vs-toyo-open-country-at3/
Highlight:
"...my perspective the Toyo Open Country AT3 provides you with better dry grip, though its really needs some wet traction. It’s supplies better noise dampening, wear resistance, and off road it shines on rocks. The Firestone Destination X/T, on the other side, offers better overall comfort, wet traction and fuel efficiency."

Why not stick with a true 34" AT (with some meat) in a Load Range E, 34" and crank up the tire pressure to make up for most all of the efficiency loss? This is what I have done and sit right in the middle of the efficiency range in the chart above.....28,000 miles in. Smooth ride, quiet, wear pattern excellent....Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT 20's.
