Just jumping in to say that we also got the 12v battery warning on Saturday after installing the hotfix.

Seems like something changed. Anything in the update notes?

I went in to the RIDE menu and reset the warning. There is something wrong with the software update not our batteries. Too high of a percentage of people got this warning within 2 to 3 days of installing the last update. Something is fishy.

You could be correct but I did not want to chance it being 3k miles from home.

My R1S is over 3 years old and almost 50k on it. I was in Florida for a week very hot and humid, did not drive much but it was using energy keeping itself cool. Then came up to MA for the last week, same thing, very hot and humid, not driving much but was keeping itself cool. Thought the extra strain may have exposed a weakness in the battery so had them changed out.

I probably would have made the same call if I was so far from home. Fortunately I was in my garage and have a spare vehicle that I could use. As posted previously, still haven't heard from Rivian on the service request I put in on Sunday. Can't wait to see how all of this shakes out and if there will be a remedy for everyone whose battery is prematurely replaced assuming that's the final resolution.

Got the “replace 12V warning last night”, first available appointment was in over a month. I dropped a text in the app that night and in the morning Louisville co sc messaged back to say they can see me that same morning! They were done two hours later. It helps that I live a few miles away from that SC and, other than the cost, I am very happy with that outcome.

I got the same warning message last night "replace 12v battery". 2022 R1T - this will be the second time I will need these replaced.

I just got the "replace 12v battery" notification today as well. Something is up. I had mine replaced previously under warranty 23 months ago. I'm only at 33k miles but a couple months past the 3 year mark . Going to try the RIDE menu reset and if the alert comes back will go the Ohmmu route. My truck is a single 12v battery - any other owners in the Denver area in need of a replacement and wanting to go halfsies on the 2 pack ($250 + tax each)? DM me if interested.

Mobile service just left after replacing both of my Gen1's 12v batteries. That's a spendy visit even with the "duplicate labor" discount. Now it's running the SW update it wouldn't do with the 12V warning active...

I installed my two Ohmmu Sodium‑Ion batteries a couple of days ago. If you’ve got an active on‑screen notification like the one below, you’ll likely need Rivian to clear it. Hard resets won’t do it. I had mine reset this morning for $56.75.

Rivian will warranty the OEM lead‑acid battery for 2 years/24 months, so that’s the one upside to sticking with their forklift‑spec battery setup. But why anyone would choose 100‑year‑old lead‑acid tech in a Rivian is beyond me.

I’m also running the Bluetooth battery monitor on mine. YMMV.

I used the Ohmmu video for the install and had zero codes. The only challenge was the need for Rivian to reset the aforementioned notification. The 12V notification is new from a OTA's from a few months ago. Install is straight forward.

They gave me no discount, even though I mentioned others were. I walked out of the service center, and I’m getting the ohmmu sodium batteries.

The whole experience is making me sour on Rivian completely

My "Replace 12v Battery" message appeared Monday evening, and even though my initial mobile service appointment was 2 weeks away, a tech reached out a day before and they came and swapped the batteries out in my driveway yesterday morning.

3.5 day turnaround is not bad. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones!

Mine were covered under warranty. I have a 2022 LE, but I bought mine as a "demo" (27 miles on it) in May of 2024. I have 23k miles on the truck, and my warranty didn't start until the day I took delivery, so I was within the 3 year/36k miles batttery warranty.

I drove the truck yesterday evening and everything seems to be functioning normally.
