1up rack fitment on bed crossbars

This looks like a pretty nice tailgate solution.

This looks ideal - though only set up for one bike in the current format.

Not the best shots but I do have the single/double 1up rack. I ended up using my hitch extender (bought for the Rubicon I traded on the R1T purchase). You could get by without the hitch extender but the pedals end up only an inch from the liftgate and that's with only being able to insert the hitch bar a few inches - I think they say 4" "required". I would run it without the extender if it was just my bike. Since I had my neighbor with me on his maiden ride with the Epic Evo I though better of it.

I am looking at options for a fork mount rack to put on the crossbars as I see myself using that if its just me and/or a buddy and then add the hitch mount rack when I have 3 or 4 in the truck. I think the weak link in using the hitch is taking off/putting on the plastic hitch cover - that is a lot of flimsy plastic just waiting to get crushed/stepped on & broken when off the vehicle. I had a Grand Cherokee SRT that had the hitch cover that was made a lot sturdier than Rivians (also smaller I guess)

Now we need to start a thread on bikes...I have a problem with too many bikes finding a home in my garage.

My "go bin" - has a little bit of everything, food/bars, extra set of biking clothes, arm-warmers, vest & older pair of shoes incase I forget to pack anything on the day. Also tools, spare tires, (gravel & mtn) stans, etc. Nothing worse than driving 1.5 hrs getting to the trailhead and not having something. Gear tunnel is great for this...Out of sight

I'll need to find a tote that size for that exact purpose. I am always trying to refine my "time it takes to get to trailhead". Looks like you found a tote that is ideal in size for geartunnel.

I have a Cache Basecamp pad on order - hoping the padding is sufficient to protect against the denting some folks seem concerned about.

Rivian's better than the Hummer for what I want a daily driver for. Looking into selling it in the next couple days. If I couldn't sell it for over MSRP, there might be a different outcome. Polestar 2 (not pictured) rides nicer than either of the trucks. It's broken in, so more comfortable than the Rivian. If it had more range, higher towing capacity, and better storage, I might not have even bought the Rivian. Rivian is the fastest of the three. Hard to qualify it totally yet but it might handle just as well as the Polestar 2. Hummer is dramatically different because of that.

I am currently in the N+2 phase as I am looking into a gravel bike and a Hard Tail MTN bike. Both steel. Both handmade in a small shop.

I might sell my full suspension and my very first high end road bike from when I was a teen to help pay for the new bikes.

Bummer about needing a hitch extender. I have one on my Jeep JK to get past the 37X12.50 spare. Sure adds a lot of length and wiggle (that’s what she said).

Ain’t that the truth. Anyone who has ridden for a while and done his own wrenching is bound to have a few bikes worth of obsolete parts in his basement. I sold a Niner Jet 9 frame to a guy on eBay last year. He asked if he could buy any old components to build it up. Turns out I had not only enough for him to build the bike but he even had options of what to choose. I’m down to 4 great bikes at the moment - feels like a victory.

Funny thing is given this is a forum for a $70k+ truck, this thread could easily turn into bike porn.
