I haven't gotten it either but it just started rolling out last night. Like all the updates they roll out to the vehicles rather than hitting them all at once.

Admin really needs to start pinning something at the top of these posts, but they're too busy changing my titles.

Is 256gb enough for the dash cam or should I get something bigger? It needs to be usb-c interface right?

"good enough" yes, but I would highly recommend a 2TB drive. You don't want a situation where you run out of space all of the time and potentially miss something. I would spend the extra money personally.

Got it overnight, installed this morning. I usually launch it in the app and then close the app and check back awhile later. When I first checked it flashed the "can't update vehicle right now" for a split second before updating the percentage. Maybe people who are watching it are seeing that label before it gets to 1%?

Anyway, installed in under 45 min, got in the car and it wanted to update the key fob (newish additional key fob though so maybe because of that) and then it all came up great. The drive I already had plugged in (see thread on drive installs) formatted in under a minute and we are rolling.

Do we actually know yet if it will use the space? I believe Tesla's dash cam just loops after an hour and overwrites the old data, so a larger drive is a waste for dash cam storage.

I am thinking dash cam and gear guard. For $50 extra or something, I prefer to err on the side of caution.

Yes, anything over 128GB is sufficient. Yes, you need USB C.

Interesting note on the dash cam: the truck makes you format the hard drive you use regardless of whether it’s already FAT32 or not. No need to manually format anymore since it forces you to from the truck.

Trying to decide if I want to record full driving sessions, or set it up with the 2 minute clips that are triggered by hard braking or an accident.

Probably the latter, but then I'll be pissed when I don't record the meteor explosion or other weird event that I'm absolutely sure will happen when I'm not recording.

Why the latter? hard drive space issues? I would record the whole driving sessions.

It's not just the space, more and longer videos require much more CPU/GPU processing and it might slow down the onboard computer.
