Center console USB ports so not working. That's exactly 2 months since taking delivery that I can't charge my phone or run the dashcam.

My Gen 2 was updated last night. Problems uncovered this morning include:

• Driver Profiles not working (moving mirrors, seats etc)
• Garage door steering wheel prompts no longer working (screen button works)
• Charging schedule reset (maybe this is normal?)
• Driver Assistance features unavailable (service required)

Put the vehicle to sleep and reset the infotainment. Neither helped.

Any reason you didn’t do a hard reset?
After the update, my car didn’t seem to know where it was at. Parked in a garage so no GPS signal. It defaulted its location to Palo Alto.
I wonder if I should disable wifi next time before running an update. Anyone know if Rivian uses cell signal to triangulate position?

First software update in my new R1S and now I realize why people complain about things breaking. I haven’t really been wowed by any of the “improvements” but certainly noticed all the new bugs and annoying behaviors introduced.

I havent done a hard reset yet. I would expect service to weigh on this before going that route. I have a service appointment this week due to alignment issues noticed at delivery so I will let them iron this stuff out.

Sad this is still an issue. They really need to get it fixed.

I did a soft reboot and the USB ports started working again. I had to reinstall my gear guard drive to get Gary to start watching again. Seems to be working now. Try that.

Packed the kids and friends in after a full charge and on the freeway the car threw up every warning light possible. I immediately exited and the car went into limp mode as I barely made it into the gas station. Hard reset took care of everything. I realize these cars are computers on wheels but surely there’s a better way to alert me of a failure than shutting down while I’m on the freeway. Friends and kids (and wife) were not impressed.

that is terrifying! Glad everyone was okay though. This is literally my nightmare.

Definitely contact Rivian customer service and let them know what happened. The reset should have captured the diagnostic info.

I’ve quickly come to realize that we are all Gen 2 beta tester for at least the next year. The more people report these random glitches, the faster they will get fixed.

I noticed it would not when I drive in low height. I did a software reset put it to auto, and now it seemed to work the last few times I've driven.
Do have a weird "clear front radars" notification now though.

Anyone else get this warning after the update? My car is clean, can't find anything that would block the front radars. When I was driving with my son yesterday the screens did go dark like a software reset had happened while I was driving. I carried on as they rebooted. It was strange.
Any way to specifically report things to rivian for their awareness? I did send service a message and pre-emptively schedule a service appt for Sept 20, but don't want to drive up to Franklin 90 miles if I don't need to.

I'll maybe have to try that when I'm back in town next weekend. In the meantime I'll see if Riv service gets back to me this week too.

I would get that warning but then after pulling out of my garage it would seem to go away. Maybe because it’s too close to objects in front so it think they are blocked?

I haven’t done a hard reset yet, seems like it isn’t usually recommended? Any harm in doing so?
