I have to agree with the post you are replying to.....It is near unusable.

I have a Gen 1 Meridian system if that makes a difference. Tried both types of restart multiple times. My expectation is that i am able to browse, choose and play music immediately after entering the vehicle. Instead, the previously playing playlist/station wont play, content browsing windows have no content for a while, then you select something to play and it spins. Then I have to choose a few different things before it actually starts playing. 10 minutes later it plays. Doesnt matter if I am on Wifi or using the built in LTE. This has never been a problem with the other music apps in my 2.5 years of ownership. Once it is playing it works fairly well, but getting it playing is really frustrating.

I never had the speaker volume issues that some have reported so I guess it was my turn to have some bugs. Hope they get it sorted this release.

Sad but true. And I’m mostly shocked that Apple haven’t stepped in or forced a removal of the app. Apple’s QC is outstanding and their tolerance for reputational harm is 0%. Im sure this is an internal hot topic. Probably the worst implementation of an Apple ecosystem since Motorola fumbled iTunes.

I am a huge Rivian fanboy and sadly this has really missed the mark.

I wouldn’t mind an update where they just focused on bug fixes rather than significant feature additions. I have been pretty happy with the software until the last few months of updates.

Seems like Rivian‘s 4 week cadence last year only introduced major features every other update, and they focused on smaller improvements and bug fixes in between.

Maybe release feature in one update and bug fixes in the next. That would make more sense to me. Also what with Audio update from the last update. Volume control is too loud at level 3 - 8 it made more sense to the previous settings.

Apple Music for me and it would seem the large majority is working pretty well. Sorry you are an edge case. It will get fixed.

I agree. There are some quirks that,I assume/hope, get ironed out but this is the ear best music app and listening experience.

I would like to see these annoyances fixed:
1-restart song from where it stopped when I get back in the car.
2-not specific to Apple app but I would love to be able to turn down the volume for just the speaker in the headliner above my left ear.
3-not sure it’s happened since the last update, but was occasionally stopping mid song
4-save last searches/listened to songs.
5-allow me to make adjustments to things like Spatial Audio in other than Park.

These are minor but needed fixes in my book but I am very happy with the music selection, the [your username] Radio (a mix of music based on prior listening history), and sound quality. Thanks Rivian and Apple!

I’m no Tesla / Elon fan, but the Apple Music integration they’ve done is lightyears ahead of Rivian. Supports multiple profiles? Check. Resume song where it left off when you enter? Check (nearly immediately I might add).

Some people take their Rivians to closed courses for fun and the limit gets in the way of using the full capabilities of the trucks.

i see same problems with Apple Music as you stated, I feel the basic problem with Apple Music implementation - it tries to stream every song every time without downloading .Rivian should support offline music play , it’s simply that.

What's odd is Spotify worked just fine. So why would they change approach to Apple Music? But it does seem to do exactly as you say...and why it stops randomly...album art is intermittent...gets stuck sometimes after it sleeps and takes a reset to get it to play again, etc...

Most likely the APIs provided by Spotify and Apple are different. Different organization, possibly different authentication, different caching and timeout configuration, etc. While the UI is largely similar, the guts and brains of each app are likely less so.

Have you used the Apple music app on a Tesla? IMO it is even worse. The Apple music app causes the entire Tesla OS to crash on my car. The screen becomes less and less responsive until the vehicle eventually self-reboots.

Sounds like the Apple Music implementation is on par with the Amazon Music implementation... At least there is an app VS only being able to use Alexa.

I can take my ICE over 120 plus easy. Rivian’s used to go over 130 now they are capped.

Production Rivians have never gone over 114.
