Just upgraded firmware and charging in the garage. After 1 kWh, the Rivian iphone app says it cost me $45.01. LOL

Similar here, though the app also shows a charging history for my trimax from 2023: this aspect of the app has always been buggy as hell.

Literally never seen it work right… before the update or after. Plus, how would it know what it cost if i haven't put in my utility cost/kwh??

Those costs are quite high. Perhaps it's assuming all charging is on the RAN or some other boneheaded thing like that?

It's easy enough to just ignore the obviously bogus info, but it's also unfortunate that we can't get a reliable reading this way. It's not like the math is difficult.

Do you live in a PG&E service area? lol

Just kidding, kind of. That's an annoying bug. Mine seems reasonably accurate though I need to check latest off-peak pricing to see for certain.

Not sure how it pulls pricing data, since I haven't authorized data sharing to/from anyone yet, and it will depend on rate plan, which is service-address-dependent.

It knows the address from GPS of the truck. I’m guessing it is just using data from some aggregator that provides generic rate plan info.

I get why they thought it was a good idea in broad strokes. But this isn’t going to work for everyone and (as is) probably won’t even work for most people. So if I were the PM I’m not sure I’d have green-lit this development effort.

Also this seems like something you’d want to build into the EVSE rather than the EV.

I'm in Xcel Energy of Colorado and charge 100% at home when rates are $.07 or $.08 per kWh 9pm to 5pm next day starting Nov 1st. Lower rates we 7pm to 1pm next day, but there charging TOU.

I use Tezlab for data analysis because it gives far more detail.
