Wassym just revealed:

We’re completely revamping Kneel Mode in the upcoming 2026.03 software update for Rivian Gen 1 and Gen 2:
  • Lower profile: Your R1 can now go even lower.
  • Quick Control: A new UI option for one-tap access.
  • Rolling Trigger: Activate on-demand at speeds below 20 mph.
  • Any Mode: Now available across many ride heights and all on-road drive modes
  • All-Terrain: Active on 15% grades and 25% side tilts
Refined by your feedback.

Does this mean we can use this updated kneel mode in all-terrain mode when you're on a 15% grade and up to a 25% tilt?

I've never used it before because I haven't really needed it. My older relatives I will sometimes put it into sport mode/lowest but it is still high for them. Does the current kneel mode lower the car more than sport mode at its lowest setting?

There's still some room below sport mode. You can tell on a gen2 when you put it into launch mode, it drops the front end even lower. Existing kneel is somewhere around the "low" setting, but it doesn't seem super consistent.

Rivian likes to lock out suspension changes when the vehicle is at too steep of an angle. I'm wondering if they've made adjustments to that system in general.

I wonder if your tires are not pointing straight if they would hit the fenders on this new kneel mode level? Time will tell

Wait so it goes even lower then the "lowest" setting? I thought the revamp was just going to "lowest"

Currently kneel mode is the equivalent to AP >> Low. If you kneel and then put it in Sport >> Lowest, the truck will get even lower.
The new release sounds like they are making kneel mode go as low as Sport >> Lowest.

Rivian, please change how the order in how the seats adjust so that when I switch from my wife's settings to mine it doesn't slide my seat forward before it slides down and/or raise the steering wheel first before doing that. Damn thing slides me forward so my knees hit the dash before lowering the seat and raising the steering wheel.

As long as it doesn't take all day and night to lower, it might be useful.

OK and when it drops at home can it stay that way Until I am really gone or parked.

Not a ton of space in the garage so I get in and back out and it lifts up. Stop and unlock and lowers some and DW opens the door and it stops.

Same in reverse arriving at home. Drops to let DW out then raises again to go 50' into the garage then back down again. A lot of work and delay for nothing.

Tesla handles this on the X with a gps based setting. "Allways lower at home", would allow it to start lowering as you pull in the driveway and then just stay there until you pull out and get going

Wow. Lots of improvements. I assume the lower height will be equivalent to Lowest. Love the ability to toggle it. Hope it can be automatic Kneel in Sport mode.
