This is another great State of Charge review. Jim does a great job at these. I have learned a whole bunch about EV charging thanks to Jim's efforts.

What I appreciate most is the way his expert video justifies my purchase I made prior to watching the video.

… while a significant portion of the active Forum sat back and armchair-qb’d your decision, too. Rivian is starting to ship adapters (in April, according to emails and CS). But even for someone like me with a ‘22 12k VIN, it might be a while before I get it … so I also ordered one.

Please post your results when you get a chance to test on an SC!

Glad you got yours. I ordered one yesterday because I need it for a trip coming up in late April, and I have no confidence the RIvian/Tesla-sourced model will show up any sooner.

I ordered mine yesterday day also. Just knowing that I have it and can use it as an alternative on road trips, is worth the peace of mind.

I had a "feeling" the tesla chargers would be enabled soon, so i ordered one on 3/.15... glad i made the right choice.

Hopefully they ship sooner than the Rivian/Tesla adapters!

I'm just glad Rivian started getting more aggressive about port temperatures after a lot of the early stories from people that melted the ports in their vehicles while L2 charging. Presumably even if the sensor in an adapter goes bad or doesn't trigger when it should, both Tesla and Rivian should be aggressive enough in their thermal response to prevent any real damage.

But, I also don't like when people use the wrong type of container to put gasoline in.

Just ordered my first R1S now that Rivian has access to NACS (coming from previous Tesla S & Y). Could I also use this adapter with my current garage Tesla wall charger or a Tesla destination charger (at a hotel)?

i.e. putting gasoline in a yellow container?

No. You need the AC adapter for your garage & destinations chargers, you need the DC adapter for superchargers. They are different.

I plan to be fully proper gas container compliant by 2035. For now, I'm just buying container credits.

Well, plastic shopping bags are made of the same material as real gas cans.
