$3000 estimate for tonneau cover replacement?

Hi all, I’m getting my powered tonneau cover replaced on Tuesday at the Denver service center. They sent me the work estimate to approve and it had about a $3000 estimate for the cover replacement. I thought it would be covered under warranty? I have a relatively early VIn purchased Oct ‘22.

Did anyone else have to pay to get it replaced?

I’ll ask the service center, but I wanted to see if others were paying or if it was covered for them.

Should be covered. Sometimes the estimates have prices for covered items, although mine for the PTC replacement didn't.

Absolutely covered under warranty. The estimates often show up and are zeroed out at the SC.

Definitely ask when you get there, but i would be shocked if they tried to charge you a dime.

They won't charge you. Mine had the same number. But do get it straight before you go in.

It's a poor process/policy by Rivian that shows warranty repairs at a cost. If anything it causes concern of cost of repair for people down road needlessly.

I like knowing the cost of warranty items. Prepares you when stuff is out of pocket.

True. Just scares everyone and kills resale value for out of warranty vehicles, but at least you are prepared.

I just had mine replaced at the Brooklyn service center and it was covered 100% under warranty. I have a late 2022 vin.
