I am 3 hours from a service and will either fly home or get a one-way rental. Service will need my car for at least a week. I am declining a rental as I have a second car. Any chance I get free RAN credits or gear?

Otherwise, take the Uber credits and move on.

I swear they added the first aid kit to my trunk because I don't remember it being there during purchase. I also got a "free" loaner on several occasions that probably added up to a month of days. I got a free windshield too after they scratched it during service ?

When I took delivery, I too was offered box water--it was a hot day and I gatefully accepted three boxes! After I got home, I got the expected questionnaire. I received exemplary service from the gang at the Richmond SC and said so on the questionnaire. But it asked about "amenities"--I gave it a 3 out of 5, which I really don't intend as a criticism: I don't expect "amenities." A restroom and something to keep me hydrated is really all I want. I want the crew at the SC to be helpful and professional--which they were. But a lot of "traditional" dealerships go way overboard: a friend of mine who drives a Toyota raves about the full snack bar at his dealership. He gets nachos and chicken fingers while waiting for service! I want Rivian to plow extra cash into improving their vehicles and production efficiency. I don't expect McDonald's to service my vehicle and I don't need my Service Center to feed me.

(I feel the same way about airlines. I recently was treated to a Business Class round-trip to Qatar on Qatar Airways. It was _amazing_. It cost my hosts in excess of $20,000. If they'd flown me in Economy and given me the ~$17,000 difference, I'd have packed a few sandwiches and been very happy. But that wasn't an option, so I had a grand time!)

I got a free Gary shirt for my toddler and a Forest Green MiiR water bottle to match my R1T when I’m picked my demo up a couple months ago. My purchase experience was so ridiculous (very long story involving thousands of dollars of deposits/refunded deposits among other things) that by the time I had a guide and delivery coordinator, the delivery coordinator threw in all-weather mats and suggested I ask for some swag on my delivery day (she went on maternity leave midway through my delivery scheduling, but must have communicated as much to her team before leaving).

Everyone on the post purchase/delivery side of things were fantastic, and I appreciated the small gesture given the very irritating and drawn out process I endured on the purchase side (a cash deal, which really shouldn’t have taken more than a couple of days but turned into almost a month all said and done). Chelsea has been great, my delivery guides have been good, but the inside sales team really needs an overhaul (coming from someone who has purchased and leased two R1Ts in a few months for my business, and is working about to start working on a third).

My advice? It can never hurt to ask politely, just never expect anything more than what you are reasonably entitled to. The worst you can get is a “no,” and as long as you don’t expect anything more, then you shouldn’t be disappointed by that.

Be open to irrational generosity and it may find you (all the more likely if you yourself extend some yourself from time to time). I asked for the employee discount on the lease R1T we will be taking delivery of tomorrow—a few weeks after the June 3rd expiration of that deal, and before they announced the extension—to my pleasant surprise, they gave me a retroactive extension of the $7250 discount ?

I’m looking at picking up one of the long sleeve shirts at some point. At some level, I look at the Rivian swag as promotional merchandise. But part of me looks at the branded merch as being a member of a club.

The path to profitability is more doomed by multiple issues under warranty than getting some RAN credits. I was offered a rental car but that cost could quickly escalate if service runs longer than a week.
