129 degrees in there! ? I second what someone stated above and seem to be in that 2% per day area. I keep it in the garage and gear guard is on. I just got the update this morning so curious to see what results I get tonight.

Was going to post a topic, then found this thread. Glad to see I'm not alone.

I'm quite surprised at how much energy this thing uses just sitting there doing nothing. Consistently losing anywhere from 7-10 miles per day when the vehicle is parked in the garage not being used. Certainly MUCH higher than any other EV I've owned or used.

Wouldn't want to leave it parked at an airport for 30 days without being plugged in. My Tesla tended to use more power when plugged in, so usually left it unplugged when I didn't need to charge it and that seemed to help, apparently doing fewer self checks. The Rivian however, seems to use the power either way. Definitely excessive. Hoping Rivian can/will improve this over time.

Where I live, electricity is not cheap. Burning an average of 3-4 kWh per day doing nothing, at my electricity rates, is basically flushing $22 per month down the toilet. That's more than two monthly TV or radio subscriptions!!

Just seems like needless waste.

6-7 miles/day seems to be the average for most people. I left it for 7 days and lost 42 miles, so averaged out to exactly 6 miles/day. Out of curiosity, is your testing before or after the latest update which has supposedly reduced vampire drain by 15%?

I just got the update last night. Will watch and measure it more closely. I locked the doors on it last night around 11 PM. Went into the app and the miles from yesterday were still showing at 165 briefly before it updated. Now showing 159. Wrote it down, 5:15 PM is at 1:59. Don't think I'll be driving it before tomorrow, so will check it again in 24 hours to see where it's at. but, definitely have lost 6 miles in about 19 hours. So assuming it will be back up to 7+ by 11:00 PM.

Holy crap. Just looked again at 1:00 AM. 8 hours after looking last time and I'm down to 152. Haven't touched the truck. 7 miles in 8 hours. Plus the 6 I already noted. So at least 13 miles. Going to see what it is tomorrow, but 15+ miles in a day, time to call Rivian. That can't be normal. Seems like the update might have made it worse!

What settings do you have turned on in the truck (gearguard, proximity locking, etc)? Is your app open on your phone? Is it outside or sitting in your garage?

That’s weird…13 hrs after I updated…only lost 1 mile. Nothing on, doors locked.

Yeah with the update it has dropped to about 3-4 miles/day for me.

Just a friendly reminder, try to report loss/consumption in % or kwh, not miles.

No way to compare what loss in miles means when we don't know what your vehicle thinks you get for miles / kwh.

I’m still losing 2-3 rated miles (~1% of battery capacity) per day when the truck is sitting idle in my garage. Rough calculation is that’s about equivalent to having a 60w light on for a day.

Woke up this morning to 139 miles in range. Called Rivian. They opened a service ticket and will get back to me. "Don't call us, we'll call you". LOL. I did do a full computer reboot just to see. But, I do have to drive it tomorrow, so had to plug it in. Will have to retest it probably over the weekend when I can let it sit for a day or two without charging. Lost at least 26 miles in range in less than 24 hours. Clearly something isn't normal.

Anyone else do any testing with the new update? Would love to see what others are observing.

Don't have any solid post update numbers, but I have noticed the truck is able to go to sleep now even with the phone app running. Previously the truck would never sleep.

With it in sleep mode, my drain is down to a level I would consider reasonable, similar to my model 3.

And in unrelated news, I just left my Nissan leaf for 5 months while I was out of state at 60%. I came back and it was at 50%, and started right up.

Granted this was a 60 degree garage, but still...

I am post update and my truck has been sitting for 15 hours. I checked my EVSE and .84kWh have gone through it. Pre-update it was between 1-1.5kWh, so it definitely appears to be using less while just sitting post update. This is just an apples to apples comparison pre and post update. This is just energy that has gone through my EVSE and not exactly the amount of energy that the truck used while sitting.
