I have a November build with just over 2K miles on it now.
  • Uneven suspension (passenger side lower/higher)
My passenger rear is losing air since delivery

  • Missing bolts from underside.

Two of the bolts that hold various trim pieces on the bottom sheered off - likely from over tightening. Only reason I noticed is I found them on the ground. No rattles or anything as a result.

Also, one more to add to the list ... Alignment. I have heard a lot of people either have alignment issues or steering wheel off center issues from the factory. Mine is 5-10 degrees off center (car doesn't seem to pull and no uneven wear on the tires).

I have an appointment next week so hopefully will get these taken care of. Other than that, it has been exceptional.

yeah I added that one. Had forgotten about that, but it seems it's still an issue. I am hopeful the mention of recent fixes for the "tocking" are real and just integrated into the factory build process now. It seems like wind noise has been somewhat/mostly addressed. Glass breaks are a thing, but seems to be coming up less often. Underbody problems are a shame, as that seems so easily fixable with proper torque specs and a quick visual final confirmation at the SC prior to delivery. And the air bag issues still being a thing seem surprising as well - feels again like something easily diagnosed after a few days at the SC (if an issue got through manufacturing) and then a proper fix prior to delivery.

Rivian is leaning a lot on it's SC folks for stuff like this, but I feel like most traditional car dealerships do, and have had to do the same thing for a long time now, the difference is you can find 20 Ford dealers within 50 miles, but you might not even find 1 Rivian SC, so the scalability of the SCs as a "cog" in the delivery machine is a real problem and will continue to be until more are built, or more staff can be hired/trained. Until then I feel like it really is the responsibility of the factory QA/QC team and whatever automation they can apply to catch issues and improve the customer experience. They've had over a year of production and data collection, I'd really love to see continuous improvement being applied to fixing the most common issues rather than taking away functionality and wood trim. Pretty sure no one is asking for that.

I’ve had all those problems and some still exist. After 2 attempts the PAAK is finally working; but still buggy. Had alignment completed twice and still not straight. Also have an unacceptable amount of wind noise; in my case it’s coming from the glass roof sitting proud of the header panel. Was told at last appointment that this is within tolerance... What do you think?
I have another open ticket in….
The POS has been in the shop 3 times already….

  • Ticking/Tocking at low speed start/stop : Yes and mine feels like the subframe or battery is loose. I get actual bangs and knocks when I take corners and my steering geometry changes on a whim. Rivian has refused to look or fix the issue. It's been towed in and has gone to Bellevue SC 3 times for this and has a 4th visit for 3/6. They actually deleted this line from a WO in the fall and then ignored it when it was towed in for the issue stating they fixed it. It was not fixed and they actually "fixed" the wrong thing. Their most recent excuse was this is "normal". Again Bellevue SC told me this not SSOC or a RPA.

  • Underbody screws missing/falling out and/or underbody panels falling off : I had a bolt come loose while on a trail 56 miles in and still had 40 miles to go. Nothing like a massive rattle for 6 hours.....

  • Freakishly "easy" glass breaks : My brakes stick and squeal. Bellevue SC told me this is normal. Never had it like this on any other car.

  • Uneven suspension (passenger side lower/higher) : Got fixed fairly early with an update, but some vehicles have "leaky" bags.

  • Wind noise/window seal gaps? : Got my window trims replaced after they ignored it the first trip in. Had to go back in. My passenger side wing window trim was physically ripping off in the wind.

  • What else? : Due bills still need to be done a year later. I've taken it in 3 times for them, but every time they blow it off and do not complete it. I've had issues with the screen actually completing a task. I keep getting told it's normal or there is a fix coming. Bellevue does not seem to want to fix the issues on my R1T.
What is your VIN and build month?

Well this is weird, but I have no VIN plate for the MFG Date. So yeah the VIN label on the door jamb is missing. I guess this is yet another thing I'll need to contact Rivian about now!

VIN is 1096.

Have you taped that off yet to see if it helps? Some people have had that applique torn off and replaced so it sits higher than the glass and it didn't do much. There is a black rubber t-mold that can be put there that someone said helped (another wind noise thread, but can't locate it).

Sometimes I found that it was the black strips along the sides. They sometimes are slightly lifted or just not on all the way due to a potential roof glass replacement at the factory.

I saw your post just now about this. Very odd they missed this, only explanation is that it was a very early build.

Are the issues with wind noise, wheel alignment and panel alignment still occurring often?

No one is going to be able to give you a definitive answer, but I know many people with R1Ts, I maintain connections with service techs and I read the forums pretty closely. Anecdotally, I think the issues have gotten way better. The wind noise issues are exponentially better than they used to be, in part due to better QC of the applique installation and window gaskets. The wheel alignment is getting better as well, though I had the issue on both my R1Ts (6K and 13K VINs). Not a big deal though -- service fixed it. I have two neighbors who recently received R1Ts with zero issues whatsoever.

They did. The SC found the air block was leaking. Replaced and it has been fine for several weeks since. Here is another thread on the similar suspension issues others have had.

Excellent and thanks for replying. I know we can’t be definitive but if anecdotally it is getting better then that is great. Visually I still see too often the end of the hood not being flush with the fenders - sometimes perfect, other times ok and more often just poor.

That’s good - I just noticed this on my truck today after picking up a week ago the driver side is about 3/4 of an inch lower than the passenger side at all times. This is both front tires:
