Canadian delivery timeframe

I’m seeing a bit of a trend - April to June is now April to May for those of us who are early 2019 subscribers. Good news for all of us! I did a demo drive in Vancouver 2 weeks ago and the ‘delivery specialist’ told me that this would be the case, as long as you didn’t change your config

In BC on Vancouver Island so not sure if distance from service centre and ferries is a factor or not.

Doubtful. My R1S is April/May (2018 LE) and my R1T is May/June (2021 Adv). On Vancouver Island. They already delivered an R1T to someone on the island (they went to Vancouver to pick up). So it doesn't seem like the ferry is an issue.

It's possible we may have to go to mainland to pickup. But that's no different than all the Tesla's on the island until they opened a delivery location a few months ago.

I received the email yesterday that says I have a new windows yet it still states “Processing Estimate”.

Yes, I received an email that my delivery date had changed and then when I checked it had changed me from April to June to April to May. At least it didn't slip for me again, I feel for the people it did. I can hang on for 3-4 months..... It's only been 4 years....

Early 2019 quad max pack holder here.

• No email
• My account still says "Processing estimate"
• Still shows a quad max pack configuration (I expected to be forced to a dual max)
• Now showing CAD pricing of some sort
• My $1000 USD deposit seems to have evaporated and just says $0 CAD deposit (dat inflation)

I'm assuming Rivian still has some manual work left to do to my account.

My jan 22 R1S preorder went from processing estimate to oct-dec23 delivery yesterday which was the same as before i did a change to 20 inch wheels about 6 months ago and it had gone into the processing estimate message, I am happy with that since I am a jan 22 preorder, I am in North Vancouver.

They did a round of CA order fixes a while back. In my case they cancelled my original 2018 order, refunded me $1000 USD. They created a new order with the same config but in CAD. They did not ask for another $1500 CAD deposit. Instead mine shows a $0 deposit (and I got $1000 USD back).

I can still see my old CANCELLED order when I look at the graphql data. I'd watch for a refund on your $1000 USD deposit. Hopefully its coming.

I am a Feb 2022 R1T pre-order holder. My original estimate (as of October) was April 2023-June 2023. My update as of last night is May 2023-June 2023. So in the same window.

Well I’m not surprised that I didn’t get an email (Rivian typically misses their own self-imposed deadlines and seem to have great difficulty with coms). Thus I have no way of knowing the status of my reservation.

I suspect that I won’t actually get a launch edition vehicle based on my location (Winnipeg) and they are just stringing me along to keep/pad their reservation numbers to protect the stock price.

I have no way to confirm this…..it’s just a hunch.

I did a website chat today and this is what I was told:

Ok Jason, I took a look at your account and I see that you are in Canada. Recently your order was updated to reflect CAD pricing, as a result, your delivery window will need to be updated to properly ensure an accurate delivery window based on your address. In this case, we would not have any further insight on delivery window updates until the next round of updates in April

I then asked how I was suppose to know this and also pointed out that my configuration and pricing is still in USD. Reply below:

You weren't this is something that we are still working on, and is the reason for USD pricing. We are still working to correct this.

I think the take home message for me is that some people with early pre-orders and a Canadian address are in limbo until they fix something on their end. I will note that my USD deposit was returned to me sometime ago. I also cancelled my pre-order after the price hike and immediately jumped back when they decided to honour the original prices.

As I mentioned I highly doubt I will end up with this vehicle based on my location. There is no harm in keeping my pre-order, since they have returned my deposit. We will see what the future holds.

Delivery status was updated from anytime in 2024 to Jan-Jun 2024. Apr 2021 R1S pre-order holder. No projected SC in Montréal yet, so...
