It's crazy, we put a deposit down a year ago and had heard nothing. Had not been even invited to configure our R1T yet. Went to the Rivian open house in Vancouver last November and they said "oh you will have one within a year of putting down a deposit". Then silence....until about 10 days ago we get this email inviting us to view R1T's that are ready for immediate purchase! So we selected a unit right away and lo and behold it's ready for delivery inside of 2 weeks we are told which is June 28!! We've been in touch with the Rivian Guide and we're just waiting to hear back about accessories and such. I don't like the fact that we have to pay a day in advance of getting to see the R1T but they assured us we are under no obligation to take it if there's something we're unhappy with. So, we'll see in a few more days.

I found they had very limited accessories up here in BC. What they do have (all weather mats) are 50 bucks more expensive than if you ordered from the US. So I suggest you just order everything from the US Gear shop and ship it to Blaine to pick up.

Happy Canada Day everyone. 4 weeks til the next update - for early reservations holders in Ontario and Quebec, what do you all think, will the October to December window stay?

Happy Canada Day!

Considering that the service center location is not even known in Quebec, and the one in Ontario doesn't see much progress (unless I missed some posts), I'm extremely pessimistic about any deliveries before 2024.

The bright side is we will know more about the dual motor powertrain and the max pack battery by then. I'm very tempted to go dual motor performance + max pack.

And then there's NACS compatibility. I actually wished they fit the NACS ports in 2024, and not 2025.

Yeah...I have doubts too - asked customer service if they were planning to deliver to Quebec from the Toronto location, got the usual vague "soon" anwser. If they do wait to the end of the month to push us back again, It will be quite disappointing.

Considering they will be giving the NACS adapter until the switch and assuming it will allow plug/automatic charge and bill on Tesla Supers, personally, I dont see it as an issue/something worth waiting for...

Absolutely (for Ontario) the SC in Vaughan has permits posted and their deadline is Nov 1st, so I’m playing the proverbial optimist card and will see you at the 1st mile event opening ceremony in December! ?

I don't have much faith Rivian is going to achieve any deliveries in Ontario this year. It's July already and that building has been sitting in the same state since they posted the new permit and nothing has changed.

The BC service centre saw a lot of movement before they started deliveries months ahead and that same level of movement is not happening in Vaughan.

Also, Rivian is exceeding their manufacturing and delivery targets right now that they might not even prioritize Ontario or rest of Canada for that matter. They are already performing 'token' deliveries in BC to say they are delivering in Canada.

We should know more about their targets soon enough when they do their delivery updates in the next few weeks.

I wouldn’t say the deliveries in BC are “token”. They are shipping them into the Vancouver SC by train and truck loads, but that started earlier this year AFTER the December 2022 launch of the BC service centre, so perhaps we’ll see the same unfold here in Ontario. I’d much prefer a Fall or early summer delivery then the in the dead of winter shite.

They aren’t delivering outside of GVRD.

There are a lot delivered to customers outside the GVRD. We had to go to Vancouver to pick up - yes. There are folks with Rivians in the interior, sunshine coast and on Vancouver Island. Rivian is doing mobile service for us.

Excellent news, especially mobile service. If you are visited by one of their kitted out vans, post pictures.

The first time it was a loaner they were taking back to Vancouver that another customer had. The second I'm pretty sure was just normal.
