Charge ti for what works for you. 70% SoC gives me 200 miles. I personally like to charge to 78% for 222 miles (it's easy to remember). I also don't recharge until I'm down in the 30-45% range.

When leaving on a road trip, I start at 100% as I've paid for that capacity and I want to use it. While DCFC on road trips, I find charging to 85% gives an estimated 240ish range and the charge rate doesn't slow down too much between 80-85% ... where as it does a lot more between 85-90%. I find that for the trips I've done so far (from sea level over 7500' passes) this gets me to my next charging stop with ~90 miles of range.

I charge to 80% daily unless I know I'll need more as this should easily handle my daily needs and/or emergencies (others might need more or less).

When going on a trip where I know I'll need to hit up a DCFC I charge to 100% that night.

I'm always interested in what other people are doing but I think many people are overthinking it. Use the vehicle and enjoy it!

Is it really that hard to understand that some people have a more unpredictable range requirement than you due to the nature of their work or the dynamics of their life?
The original comment was in regards to people wanting to charge more for no real reason without context beyond a bigger number feels better. See my response earlier today about taking into consideration your specific driving needs:

Obviously feel free to charge more to calm any range anxiety, but the likelihood of needing to drive an unplanned an extra 80 miles in a day is usually quite small for the vast majority of people.
If someone has experience of "oh shit, I need to drive an additional 80 miles without any sense of that today" for with their lifestyle, sure. That's just pretty uncommon.
