I regularly get to drive at top speed (111/112mph) on the autobahn and it drove pretty smooth. A bit of hood flutter but not worrisome. I drive hard and my R1T is amazing.
You don't count because we don't have unlimited speed roads here ?

Sure. But one that's quick AF and EVs are perfect for bracket racing. Also, stupid fun to show up in a 7000 lbs truck and mop the floor with a lot of cars people think are quick. Especially fun at nearly 6000 ft when all the ICE vehicles are down 18% on power.
Yep, I remember when our 3 got the performance increase update, was a nice little easter egg on top of an already fun car.

I personally find that when I'm bouncing up against the speed limiter that I'm usually in a fit of rage at someone who's being quite rude on the roads and doesn't realize what a Rivian is and/or how quick EVs truly are. That being said, it would be nice to have the option similar to a temporary "overboost" that turbocharged cars have but ultimately, my driving style probably should settle down because this truck is so incredibly capable and then some.
Sounds healthy

Speed is like money in your pocket... you know you have it when you need it; and not everyone would spend it all but some would. I had driven my R1S to 110mph in a safe environment and it did feel safe and I wished I had a little more (I wasn't racing with someone).

Some people say if I want to drive fast, I would pull out another car. That's really irrelevant because it is based on situations. (btw, I have a very fast car that can go to 200mph too)

Wind noise is subjective because I don't hear half of the noises that my wife hears.

It's not. I absolutely hate where I live because of the poor driving habits and lack of infrastructure. The R1T has ***k you power that feeds into that. but hey, I need MOAR POWER.

Dang, I didn't realize. Aren't they the only H rated tire in that size? That may be the issue with the speed limit. Rivian doesn't want people to put on tires not rated for that speed that would explode when someone decides to drive 125 on non OEM tires.

Either way, I like my license so keep my speed to 9 over on the highways, so not my issue.

Probably, but there are some T-rated options which would be 118 mph. And if you mount snow tires on just about any car most of them are Q rated, which is only 99 mph.

In reality all of these numbers are more for bragging than useful. My Model S supposedly has a 4.3 zero to 60 and a 140 top speed. The 4.3 seems pretty quick and I’ve never had it over 110.

My R1S I got the 22s because they are the ones that supposedly can do the 3.0 0-60, literally I have launched it twice in the 10 months I‘ve had it. I do use cruise on longer trips as I found myself over 90 several times and as mentioned by others, prefer staying closer to the speed limits not only to stretch the available range but shortens the recharge times.

On another note though Edmunds did test a quad R1T and stopped from 60 mph in 116 feet, the Hummer was 137 and in the video that was racing the Hummer against the CT they did a stopping test and the hummer was beating the CT by more than the length of the CT so we have that going for us.
I will take braking over acceleration any day.

CT has 10 more hp and about the same size pack. Very likely Rivian can unlock a bit more performance for the 3 seconds. Do I care, no. Also it will be a long time before CT is available in any meaningful numbers. The chances of you racing a CT in next year are close to zero.

The R1S is pretty stout from 0-50 but then it starts to fall off. Approaching the top of Vail Pass is more impressive in my Cayenne Turbo. The R1S definitely needs more from 50-90.

I've also had my R1T on 20's up to 110mph on a nice smooth asphalt roadway.. it was rock solid at that speed. I felt completely safe..

Well this whole thread is depressing ! I just locked in my QM on Friday, so waiting for a delivery date. I had no idea we were capped at 110 mph. I regularly drive my Y on I-70 to Leadville, and have certainly gone faster than that up hill. Damn.

Are the 22s noticeably better than the 21s ? I locked in from the shop, so it was originally coming with 22 sports for a $3.5K upgrade. I've asked them to go back to the 'free' 21s. Clearly you thought 22s were worth the upgrade - curious if you still feel the same ? (I'm getting some 20s with snow tiresfor the winter, so the 22s will just be for non-winter). thanks
