But seriously, get away from those 21s. 20 is where its at! You go from 2 not great options to indecision paralysis over the volume of options between manufacturers, size, type, etc.

It would be nice to be able to do that right now, but it's not in the budget.

FWIW you essentially get a $500 discount on the MSWs by pairing with the Goodyears over the 21" Michelins. By your second set of tires that's $1000 off, and then you're in the black on the 3rd set.

But if sticking to 21s, go Michelin.

If you're strictly factoring cost and efficiency, the price/data are the best indicators, obviously.

If you're looking for colloquial input from users, I cannot recommend highly enough, the Yokohama Geolandar A/T4 275/55 R21 116H XL BSW.

They have been the best mix of low noise, good dry weather grip, excellent in snow, properly rated for the weight, great looking tire I have found available for these on the 21" wheels. I have NO idea on efficiency hit, as it isn't a concern of mine at all, but otherwise, they have been excellent.

I am nearing 4/32 on my OEM 21” Pirellis and bought limited remaining stock of the Hankook ION HT. I am trusting Gemini which states that reduced rolling resistance will more than compensate for the increased weight of the tires due to the longer tread life. I hope my experience is the same as others who have posted.

Some LLMs are better than others, and yours seems to understand logic and reason. Rolling resistance IS the most important factor regarding tire efficiency. Period. Weight matters, but not as much.

I switched to the Michelin’s about 8 months ago. Negligible effect on range, if any, and they are wearing waaaaaay better than the Perelli’s. They seem quieter, though the noise never bothered me and they were good in the snow as wel

I have the Hankook Ion tires for my Model Y and we like them. They are holding up well after the factory set was replaced just over a year after we bought it. Seem a bit more efficient too.

Joined the Hankook tire club today after 24k miles on the original Pirelli 21's. Over those 24k miles my average efficiency is 2.53 mi/kwh. This summer over the last 2k miles I was averaging 2.73 mi/kwh which is more or less what I've averaged over the summer months since I purchased my R1T in November 2023. The cold weather in NH in the winter has a meaningful impact on efficiency for me.

I will share my efficiency on the Hankook's after I get some mileage on them but I suspect it will be a little worse given some of the info already shared on this forum. I paid $295/tire, which I thought was pretty good.

I am very interested to see how they work for you. Of course when new, they will be less efficient until they wear in. When I put iONs on my Mach-e, I measured a significant improvement in efficiency. My guess is these will be as good as OEM in the long run. Although I have seen posts like you have that suggest they will be worse.

I replaced my factory 21’s with the bridgestone alenzas. 1st set thru tire rack mobile install were sent back due to not being able to get them balanced. Replacement done thru local installer much better - they did forced road balancing to make sure it was good. So far at 680 miles 2.44 miles/KWH at an average of 37 mph. I do like them. Quiet and nice ride. One comment I got about the michelins was their compound seems soft for the weight of the r1t which might lead to more tire wear. No they weren’t selling me a brand new- that was the comment after twlling them what is was considering.
