Can't you just pull the valve core to have the tire deflate and be able to put it back under the floor?
Yes, it deflates to exactly the same size on its own if there is no pressure in the tire. Nothing is stretched out permanently as far as I can tell. I have never actually used mine but have inflated it several times to demonstrate it to unbelievers.

I checked for @travisketchum 's response in the comments in 1the video. He's saying it will be "difficult" to get it back into shape to fit back under the floor. If true - that's enough not to bother with buying one. My insurance will cover the costs of road service cheaper than spending $800 on a use once then it's an annoyance tire.

In the video attached above, the person on there says it deflates to exactly the same shape as it was before.

In that video deflates the spare for an R1. Now - is R2's different? Dunno. I'd prefer to think that video is correct. Here's one area the manual doesn't address.

This is the only "single use only" I've ever heard of for spare/emergency-use tires. I've never seen any physically separate "spare" labeled single use only.
Neither have I....

The only thing I can think of would be one time use would be the sealant along with any tire that it goes into. You would need to change out at earliest serviceable location for replacement.
But, due to people driving on these temp/spare tire set ups in the Nashville area, at least “full time”!
This seems more like legalese to cover Rivian.

But no such disclaimer made. Influencer heard it somewhere. Repeated without verifying. They’re just someone with a platform and following. No credentials or proof in expertise. Followers need not follow blindly.

The conpact spare tire is not a one time use. You can deflate and it will return to its compacted form for reuse again. There are good vids out there on how to use these.

It’s not true, I have one on my R1S and it has been used twice, goes right back to original size and shape And fits like always in its spot.

🤔 I'm still on the fence about whether to get the spare or not. I've seriously been thinking about how often I've used a spare over the years. It's not fully about cost, but I like the idea of the extra storage space.

I am a little bit in the same boat. However, I think I am going to get it and use it for trips.....and then maybe take it out when driving locally for the added storage.

We have had enough flat tires, and life in the wide open country of New Mexico that having one is good insurance I think.....
