I didn’t know there was a cord coming… who is making it?I can't wait till the NACS DC extension cord is available hopefully later this Summer.
I see that A2Z has one .... sOOn ... but @ $300.ºº ??? Seems very expensive.

Actually you blocked two stations unnecessarily. You could have parked in the stall in between the lines more right and centered with the stall and simply used the one in front. That is a new "centered" design and the cable reaches, FYI.Last month while Road tripping to TX for the eclipse, I got yelled at at two locations. I went to the SC by Sonic Burger in Cathedral City, CA with 8 chargers. Five were taken up when I arrived and there was no option to take the end one or handicap stall to only take up 1 stall. I ended up taking up two stalls to charge. The Teslas were pretty quick and cleared out and more came in. One guy pulled into the handicap stall and proceeded to chastise me for taking up two stalls. I was about to offer to stop my session and switch stalls with him but he could care less. He just muttered "Sucks for the next guy that has to wait."
The next night I was in Glendale, AZ and got to a 12 stall SC with only two other Teslas there. I parked in the handicap stall (I have disabled plates) which allowed me to not take up two stalls. While charging, a Tesla pulls up behind me and starts honking. I think nothing of it since there are 9 other open stalls. He backs in a couple of stalls over from me and proceeds to cuss me out. He went off how he was handicapped and uses a wheelchair and I was in HIS stall. He went off how I don't belong there and to go charge at my own station. I could have easily got out and plugged him in but after his rant I told him to take it up with Elon and that Ford and Rivian were already allowed to charge there and more companies were on their way. Second pic shows the handicap stall where I parked my Rivian the night before. You could see that the other guy had plenty of options to park and charge.

If there is still 50% magnitude uncertainty as to the final dimensions then mass production is still pretty far off. Rivian's version of Soon must be contagious. Or at least I hope so. I really hope they spend a while testing after they settle on what they expect is the final design.Once it's available from A2Z EV, you can use the forum discount code "RIV" to save on the cable.
I am going to try to order one as soon as it's available to review it and use it personally.

It's more about the wire options and passive cooling can afford. Even though the V3 TSC's are rated at 250kw max, the duty cycle is very short (7-10 min in my usage results), then it derates to 350A. Sustaining 500A in a 2-3m cable would require a wire size that most people wouldn't want to carry or handle. My guess is they are going to use an active control to keep the extension cord limited to 350A to keep it manageable. There's a bit of testing that will need to happen with these, more so than just the adapters. If there is still 50% magnitude uncertainty as to the final dimensions then mass production is still pretty far off. Or are they just covering their bases for when the quality control is so poor that some end up 2 meters and others end up 3.
Exactly the wrong attitude. The amount of likes on your comment saddens me.Although it does make me want to start charging at SC locations exclusively with the hopes of pissing off charming people like Mr. Muscles. ?
I’m sorry the prospect of me showing up at a Tesla SC that we were given access to (by Tesla) and following the exact directions provided for charging (by Tesla) causes you sadness.Exactly the wrong attitude. The amount of likes on your comment saddens me.
Last summer, while driving from Newport Beach to the UP in Michigan, I had lots of bad experiences at EA chargers. At this point I really don't trust them.I agree that it sucks you had to deal with that guy but I must ask, why didn't you go to the closer EA station? Only 3 of 4 working means 3 are working and you can charge there just fine.
Non-Teslas charging en masse at Superchargers is perhaps the most effective way to normalize the situation and reset expectations for uninformed Tesla owners.I’m sorry this happened.

Maybe as a group we should go on a cross country tour, stopping at superchargers with our Rivians en masse. We could get our vehicles wrapped with a message like “Hi, my name is Rivian and I’m your new neighbor”?Non-Teslas charging en masse at Superchargers is perhaps the most effective way to normalize the situation and reset expectations for uninformed Tesla owners.
Just do it like a Band-Aid. One motion. Right off! ?
