For anyone living in NYC, unless you have a perfect charging setup, DO NOT BUY THIS CAR.
- rivian has not invested in a charging network
- rivian is not compatible with most tesla superchargers
- rivian size and charging set up doesnt fit in some garages
- rivian takes significantly longer to charge than most EVs
- rivian vampire drain is significant. Went on vacation and had to deal with three different towing companies to get car out
- every one of these companies said they tow rivians all day
- this car will be a huge drain on your life
- switched from a tesla and that was a huge mistake

for reference - quick look up of superchargers that accept non teslas (coming and live) from the tesla web site and - a list of 150kw + chargers from plug share.

Drive it out to Long Island, bring the Title, I'll swap you our i3 which is 100% without doubt the perfect NYC vehicle. I wouldn't dream of owning a Rivian in NYC, as a matter of fact, I wouldn't own/keep any vehicle in NYC as parking is a 24/7 nightmare there.

Well, honestly, just looking at the title alone, does it really matter where the vehicle is purchased? I mean, makes little difference- now where you live and work, well, then ok.

I'd remove the "THIS" from that sentence and replace it with "A"! A _car_ in NYC?! Easy access to the best bagels in the world (as I hide from angry responses from Montrealers) comes at a steep price.

So you did zero research and are now crying about it. NYC is not representative of basically any other city in the country either. But as others posted, there are plenty of DC chargers around that support Rivian, including Tesla. The size of the vehicle is a you problem. TL;DR, don't buy an EV yet unless you have home charging available or you'll probably have a bad time regardless of the specific EV you choose.
