I mean minor issue, tbh. But just checked, 1c offline in app. Says available. Has been offline since they opened too. My charge on 1b started immediately. Im guessing maybe you started on 1c, didn’t work but it made your vin be registered as charging and wouldn’t let you charge in another spot. Just a guess.

Thanks for the insight. That could be. I wonder why 1c would say available if it was offline (at the pedestal I mean)? But that theory certainly could hold water. They suggested I go back and try again and do a hard reset on the vehicle if I get the same issue.

Yeah i even check tesla to be fair when I had one, all it took was guessing which wad down one time and losing it to someone else to say never again. ?

it does say in the car that one is down though, just have to use the app to see which. Probably just a bug that it shows availabile. Maybe because 2c is working?
Well, I assume it’s working.

It looks like I have that number saved as customer experience (CS). I have never actually called that one as an owner; I have always called Rivian 5 (855 Rivian 5) for anything once I was an owner and they always pickup in no more than a minute or two.

Additionally, I just checked service chat in thre app and they are showing I would be 8th in the queue with the appropriate wait time estimate. Looks like they may be busy with the 2023.22.0 OTA rollout perhaps?

Oh and I called into Rivian. Gave up on actually getting a live person after about 20 minutes. If they want to be competitive they are going to have to step up their game. Thank God my wife wasn’t with me or she would have cancelled her R1S reservation before we got home.
I am seriously starting to think most people that post here and on Reddit are cursed. I would have never have bought my R1S if I had spent any time here.

Well to be fair, people will tend to complain more than praise (and I say that as the OP). But I do think it’s important that Rivian be held accountable to issues so that they work to resolve issues like this (and more importantly the 1 and a half hour hold
Time to reach someone to help)?

I've charged at 3 different RAN locations in Oregon and they all went more smoothly than any other fast charging stops I've made with both our EVs over the last year. Sorry this 1st attempt didn't work for you.

I'm not trying to be glib at all, but I will say that if your wife won't want a car because a charging station doesn't work once, cancel her preorder immediately and stick to a hybrid something instead. The current condition of America's charging infrastructure isn't for the faint of heart. Better to check back in in a few years.
Same here. Charged in Madras, OR and it in a well located spot with 6 hi-speed chargers. A smooth and a very good experience. For those at Rivian reading the posts, the coast of Oregon needs a similar network. I was using an EA charger (1/2 the units weren’t working) in Beaverton and another R1 owner was there charging ahead of a coast trip and was thinking the same thing.

There are already 2 RAN stations on the OR coast (Lincoln City, Coos Bay) and several more on the CA northern coast and another in Aberdeen on the WA coast. Add in a few EA stations and some slower 50kW class chargepoint stations traveling along the OR coast is pretty straight forward with CCS

Went to check out the Greenville SC station today. First attempt I kept getting a red bollard and tried 3 times to reconnect. Gave up and moved down one. Sat for over 14 minutes while seeing “starting” on the screen but it never did. That’s pretty disappointing
You might want to open a ticket. This happened to me a couple of months ago during my first trip to a RAN, and it turns out they had to replace one of the modules. I had to insist that there was a problem with the car, as the person who answered my call was dismissing it as a fluke. I had tried at several stalls, two locations in Oregón and one in California, and it was a no go on all of them. I was able to charge at EA, EVgo and EVCS in the meanwhile

Somewhere I read that they are planning one for Astoria. That would be awesome!

i stay around Manzanita /Cannon Beach there’s no hi-speed Ran nearby. There’s a flow traffic that goes North or South from hwy 26. It would be nice to have hi speed somewhere near that junction.

There is a 50 kW EVCS in Cannon Beach. Even Tesla owners have to go to Seaside/Tilamook it looks like. Certainly love to see more chargers but I don't see the OR coast being in dire need vs other areas especially with access to the Tesla chargers at some point.

Hate to hear this, up in Brevard and have not tried the ones there. Had a great experience at RAN in Blowing Rock, NC. We do head to your area and would have been neat to charge up there. I just checked my app and it said 5 of 6 were available. Glad u got to talk to someone and make them aware of the problem.

For me a RAN charger will be like seeing a first Rivian is for many.....it will be a momentous moment.
LOL, I felt the same way the first time I got to charge at one. Never felt that way when filling up at the gas station. Funny I used to live in Aiken, SC, and go to Augusta, GA, all of the time, where there is a bank of RANs there.
