Halloween Mode NOT WORKING?

I hate that my first ever post in here is about a problem, but I am not seeing anyone else on the internet having a Halloween 2025 issue. I updated my app and ‘24 Gen 1 RIS to the latest software. Halloween mode shows up in the app, but it does nothing once enabled. Last year, I had no issues with the Halloween mode. This year, it’s nothing. The only thing that seems to work is the frog croak when locking, whether or not Halloween is enabled. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the iPhone app, and done a soft reset on the car. Still won’t work. On or off WiFi doesn’t matter. And yes I’ve been completely parked each time.

Judging by some of the posts here, it seems some Gen1 owners are having similar problems.

So, you enable it on the app and sitting in the vehicle it doesn't change the displays and play the sound? Are you in PARK? If you put it in gear, it disables.

Yes, in park. I’ve tried it multiple times. As I said, last year’s Halloween stuff worked for me with no issues.

It works best if both phone and vehicle are on the same wifi, but it will still work otherwise - In your app, do you see the "no cloud connection" icon or notification?

I have tried it multiple times at home, yes, on the same WiFi. No cloud connection issue notices either. I also tried this morning, parked in the parking lot at my work with just using cellular. And yes I have Connect+, too. All paid up, just got my renewal notification a week or so ago.

Having the same issue. I have a tire rotation set on Monday so if not solved by then, perhaps the tech can help.

You gotta step on the brake to turn on the vehicle in Park. Same thing happened to me too.

We are having the same issue. We have also tried everything suggested. Still not working. My Rivian app controls are working for climate etc. But nothing happens when we tap “Let’s Get Spooky”.

Ah, dang. Good to know at least that I’m not the only one. Hopefully there’s a patch that is done before the Halloween thing is over. Otherwise, oh well, I’ve had/driven cars for 30 years now and not a one of them had a “Halloween” setting!

not working at all here on my lowly Gen 1 either. nothing exterior or interior.

One thing i was going to miss when moving over to the escalade iq was halloween mode. Guess i don't have to worry about missing it anymore

Had the same issue on our Gen 1. Soft reset followed by putting in drive then park again fixed it.

FWIW, it works fine on my Gen1. Hope you get it figured out!
