On occasion I need to stand-by in the R1T while waiting for job info and sometimes it may be for multiple hours at a time. Looking for suggestions regarding HVAC settings to keep warm/comfortable during the cold weather in the Northeast? Auto or manual, Recirculating or outside air, vents just on driver's area, Camp mode? I thought there was a thread somewhere on this forum regarding this but no luck with a search.

Leave mine on auto most of the time. Defrost is crazy warm in my experience.

Don't forget the comfort and economy advantages of heated seats and steering wheel.

Best wishes!

Have not tried auto mode with no humans in the front seats, but camp mode maintains internal heat & power when there’s a human in the rear seat. ?

Auto always, set temp and forget it. Set the seats and steering wheel as desired. No-brainer.

Pet mode in my Gen2 tri-motor in cold limited requires me to set the temp at 63 degrees in order to prevent the cabin from over temping in the 80s. This needs to be fixed.

Tried Auto for at least an hour this morning while parked but the fan was running at Med the whole time. Changed fan setting to Low but the system is so loud it’s just annoying, ended up turning it off.

I like to use Camp Courtesy when waiting in my car. It ensures headlights and parking lights are off, which is nice at night so you don't disturb others with headlights on for a long time; and it ensures the HVAC runs quieter, again avoiding disturbing others.

If you are in a place with a lot of noise and light pollution anyway, you might be fine. But sometimes I'm parked head-in pointed right into a business with a small sidewalk, and keeping the headlights on or having a noise HVAC could be unnecessarily disturbing to people inside the business.

You can still set any temp you want, the HVAC will just work less hard getting to that temp or maintaining it.

We have a 2 hour ferry ride to the mainland and will always take the R1T because we can stay in the vehicle no matter how cold or warm it is outside. The alternative is to get a purser to call the elevator so we can get our dogs upstairs off the vehicle deck because they don't like the narrow metal stairs.

Unless the windows are open, we just leave it at 70 degrees and Auto all the time. The two hour trip eats up about 4 miles of battery when the outside temp is in the 30's, so it's not a big deal.

The other nice thing is camp courtesy is persistent even if you get into or out of your car from what I can tell, until you switch into drive (but remember to turn your headlights back on).

Try Pet Mode...or Doggo Moddo as we call it. I've used it while waiting at the airport to pick someone up and a flight was delayed.
