Chargers for the first time at a Tesla Supercharger in Scotts Valley, CA. Charged from 56% to 70% in about 15 minutes. Started by a QR code that led to App Store to download the app. Already had it, but downloaded an update. Picked “charge a non-Tesla vehicle.” Had to update billing address and pick my stall number. At that point the cable with magic dock released, but it wouldn’t quite reach. Moved my R1T up a few inches and was successful. Maxed at 115 kw.

Yeah that’s great. When is Elon going to open up other superchargers? Or its only going to be open in California and New York?

Probably when he gets federal money to do so.
I assume that is the reason he is doing it.

Of course that’s why the Charlatan is! Whatever the minimum action is to get your tax money.

I would definitely pay that because i know for sure it works unlike many EA stations.

Point to these is they are a great BACKUP option. EA or others with 150kw or 350kw charger are still better for non-Tesla EV's as they will charge much faster. The only real issue has been the reliability of those chargers working on every occasion at every location. The Tesla chargers offer reduced rate charging, but a great backup option if the others aren't available.

Prices are notably higher, charge rates are notably lower, but certainly better than nothing if the other mainstream EV chargers are not working. Certainly wouldn't plan to use Tesla chargers if there are other options available.

You wouldn’t say ouch if you were on a road trip and knew you were going to charge no matter what without any hiccups. I think the up charge is worth it to avoid the Russian roulette of EA and EVGO.
This would be my back up to a back up… and that’s a year away at best as I’m nowhere near New York or California… I’m not knocking the reliability of the chargers. Everyone knows they work and Musk can certainly charge whatever and people will line up to pay it. But I personally will seek out every other option first and leave this as an absolute last option if it comes to it…

They have a membership program for 12.99 per month that drops the rate by 25% or so. Probably worth it if you use them a more than once every few months.

Nice low state of charge I was at about 150kw but went to full and it zoomed down. I think your pull number may have been because of your high state of charged. I charged in Red Hook NY a few days after they opened, so mid March I would say? It was a few days after the NJ guys did vids at another NY charger.
