I'll just leave this here:

Clearly America overwhelmingly prefers colors in the monotone spectrum. Supply and price definitely have a role to play and bias these numbers, but still - I do find it strange as well.
Strange that the LE holders are almost the opposite.

I don't think Launch Green and Limestone are as similar as some are suggesting. Launch Green doesn't' have a as much flake in it and Limestone (at least the sample at the Venice store) is more like LA Silver with some green in it.

Agree, based off the image we've all seen. It's like someone was making LA Silver and added a hint of green by mistake and they went with it.

Not really...

The reason, I believe, black and white cars are the most popular has to do with 2 key factors today.

1) Most automakers charge extra for other colors beside white or black and people don't mind either color so why pay extra
2) Data probably includes fleet sales

If you know you're going to wrap the vehicle, you certainly are not going to pay extra for paint color in addition to wrapping costs.

Rivian LE included color option as a basic price of the vehicle AND the cost of the vehicle is much higher than the average vehicle costs so spending pattern of the buyers is probably much different than lower priced vehicles.

If the actual color samples are correct, limestone and launch green look similar in no way whatsoever.
The picture is apparently a photoshop fail. I'm chalking it up to their preference on the "Colors" page of tinting the whole photo to match the color. It sort of works in a few of the shots, but it makes the yellow look terribly muted, the red look like it was photographed in volcanic light, and Limestone look like it was taken on a dark day... which makes the paint look darker than I think it really is.

This photo, from another thread, seems to line up very well with the color swatches we've been presented along the way:

My memory could be failing me but I seem to remember that LA is like glitter, launch green was slightly flaky and limestone had very little flake but it’s been a few months since I was at first mile and they only had a swatch of limestone (mounted behind plexiglass).

I could be wrong too. Agree LA is very metallic. I have only seen the limestone swatch In Venice. But I thought it was more metallic than I was hoping. If it has less fleck I’ll probably go with limestone.

I remember being intrigued but I want to see an entire limestone truck before I make the call. I actually liked LA until I saw it up close. Was a tad too sparkly for me. For now I’m configured with the darker forest green but I have probably changed my configuration 20 times LOL.

The first video of Limestone will need to get very close and give us a metallic flake count!

Have you seen the Forest Green in person? What did you notice and like about it?

I have seen the Forest Green in person and it's very nice. I'm still. considering it. It's a deep rich green but it has a little more flake than I like. I usually prefer paints that are less metallic but if I don't get limestone, I'll probably get Forrest Green.

I was going to drop by the Venice Hub yesterday when I was in the neighborhood but they had at least 6 launch green trucks all in front of the building and they must have been doing rides or something. I didn't have enough time to look for parking so I didn't stay. I might drop by again the next time I'm in the neighborhood if they have any new colors for their demo trucks.

I just love that color. Used to have an A6/allroad in that green… I also am not a super metallic flake lover but the ultra flat nardo grays worry me a bit. Can’t help but wonder if that trend will die out. My latest flip flop is between the forest green and the dark gray el cap. Maybe I should just buy two??? ?

Apparently Rivian Central finally decided Nardo Gray would not be as popular as Launch Green. Having promised to make the latter exclusive, they pulled Limestone into the same color space, with just a tad less green and a little more blue. But it’s essentially Launch Green for the hoi poloi.

I was tempted to lighten the first picture (Limestone) to make its exposure the same as the second picture (Launch Green), but decided not to, to keep people from saying the pictures have been altered. They are not altered except for flipping the LG horizontally to make the vehicles face the same direction.

Needless to say, if you brighten the exposure of the Limestone it’s *even more* Launch Green.
As a LE res holder, I think this is silly. For nonLE holder, that's cool.
