Just FYI, Tesla doesn’t make supercharger stations these days much with just fewer than a dozen chargers. That’s what Rivian does.
Unfortunately they don't build a lot of new ones in my neck of the woods, so most are 6 or 8. Hopefully someday.

I have to question why continue investing in the Rivian charging system when Tesla has such a lead in that area.
Because an unhinged, man-child, with rumors of a white supremacy background, could cut you off on the whim of a bad one-night-stand, drug bender, or critical tweet......

Yeah I saw this route with charging stations (which is the route I usually drive) last evening when I plugged it into Google Maps and was a little puzzled why the Riv phone App. doesn't reflect the same locations.
Well I made the trip to and from Bozeman (Manhattan technically) - coming from Longmont. Everything went smoothly but I gotta say it was the first rv road trip I have taken where charging felt burdensome. That was a function of the fact that I was needing to charge up into the 90s and even near a 100% a couple times - which takes so damn long! I am in a gen one r1t dual large - 21” wheels with stock tires. Charged at the Ran in Cheyenne - a little off the highway but at a funny mall as they often are. Then a SC outside Casper in Evansville. Long charge here both ways. Then the singe 50kw charge point in Sheridan - now issues but definitely would suck to have to wait for others. The relative slowness of the charger didn’t matter as much since all of them are slow above 80percent. Then a charge outside Billings at another SC and a SC in Belgrade just past Bozeman. Same on the way back. My efficiency varied - sometimes I can get 2.35 like on the drive from Florida to CO. But there’s were a few legs both directions where I was getting much worse - I think mostly due to some strong winds. Generally the truck nav was close in the arrival mileage but between Evansville and Sheridan there was some stormy raining weather and I arrived with thirty some fewer miles than projected. I did 76mph mostly on the way up. On the way back with the camper I kept it to about 71mph. There were a few legs where the winds were gnarly and I got about 1.66mi/kw.

It didn’t help that I did the whole trip in two days and got home at 2am - that made those hour plus charging stops hurt extra.

Huh? Who cares if Tesla has a “lead”? Cheering for a monopoly?

Why shouldn’t Rivian build out a charging network? It isn’t a zero sum game. There are a lot of different gas stations—and if Rivian can create another revenue stream, that’s a positive. In my experience, the RAN chargers have been great.

(Also, some of us avoid all Tesla products, even their electrons.)
At thiss point I’d rather eat worms than use a tesla charger

I won’t be surprised if one of the outcomes of these “government efficiency efforts” ends up being subtle end of incentives for efforts to build out non-Tesla charging networks.

The charging world needs non-Tesla companies willing to invest and eventually become profitable in charging unless we all want to be beholden to Tesla’s whims forever.

While I am grateful for access to the Supercharger network, I’ll choose to give my money to reasonable alternatives when they are available.

EA and RAN don’t need government subsidies. If they could build stations for the price Tesla can then there would be no issue. You can get a nationwide system with around 600 locations at a million or two each. That is around a billion, maybe a little less. In the scheme of things that is chump change.

I'll be going through there over thanksgiving, but I’m not optimistic. What kind of s00n are you hoping for?
Same, I will be driving through the area next week and was hoping to use my referral credit.

….I'm waiting on a R1S TriMax and trying to figure out how I make it from Boulder, CO to Bozeman MT.
Crossing Wyoming is a long relatively empty journey….and the winter's snow and hurricane force winds from the west give me pause to attempt it with the so few charging station options.
@Paul Hackett
why don’t you just use the Tesla SC network (with Tesla adapter)
here’s the calculated route for a Tesla X Plaid

I wish there were RANs in between Tucson and Lordsburg. There are ~10 EA chargers in Marana and 4 EA chargers in Bensen (IIRC). And there are ~16 Rivian-accessible Superchargers in Marana or NW Tucson. But going to the Chiricahuas or to Bisbee, or up the Coronado Trail to the White Mountains is a little sketchy.
