Both of ours are in-hand....surprised on the R1S delivery as that was a 20,XXX VIN.

Probably a mistake? I didn’t think R1S adapters were close to shipping yet.

I'm not sure which they go by, perhaps both delivery date and VIN are helpful clues.

Original delivery date, with some R1S (also by delivery date) mixed in. Been said in these forums multiple times.

I ordered the A2Z a month ago for a trip I have in a week And It’s not looking like I’ll get the A2Z in time. Based on this thread my 2/2023 delivery date probably puts me a couple months away from getting the official adapter. Considering I have no trips planned after next week I’ll probably cancel my A2Z if it doesn’t ship by tomorrow.

Original A2Z Typhoon has been discontinued to make way for Typhoon Pro. Their start-ship date on that slipped from week of 7/15 to next week. You are probably better off canceling and buying a 2nd hand one listed here and at the classifieds for reddit sub. Please try to store your adapters in your climate controlled cabin instead of the Frunk while driving to help reduce the chances of thermal throttling.

I'd say just keep the A2Z adapter and have a backup. This was my plan. I took delivery in March of this year so It'll be a while until I get the free adapter. Now I'll have 2 eventually which I consider smart. You are out and get the adapter but drop it by accident and it gets damaged somehow, now what? Well who cars you have the A2Z tucked away safe in the car for emergencies.

I originally thought this was overkill, but honestly after receiving the OE Rivian one, it’s far less confidence inspiring than the A2Z.

I have my A2Z up for sale on the forum, but if it doesn’t sell, keeping a spare seems like a wise idea for when I inevitably frag the “official” one.

Yes, they are made at the Tesla factory in Buffalo NY per my understanding…

Don't let the adapter hold you back. You can go a lot of places without needing a Tesla charging station.
