Where did you go to see the Vaughan SC? When I click demo, the nearest is still in MichiganJust logged into my account and discovered an invite for test drives at the Vaughan SC. Dates ranging from next week until Feb 3.
Looks like this is invite only. Maybe to manage numbers.I logged into my account and beside the calendar (events) icon I had a notification. I clicked on it and it showed the Vaughan SC to book an appointment.
I got the same date.Got my date for Jan 23rd.
This must be restricted for the moment for reservation holders. I tried to see if I could book a test drive, but it's not showing the Vaughan location.I logged into my account and beside the calendar (events) icon I had a notification. Hi Shaggy, Thank you for the detailed explanation!Hi Nezha, Rivian’s made before March 2023 had two 12v batteries. They experienced some issues with dead batteries which, like an ICE car, render the car undriveable until changed. Here’s some detail on it:
https://www.autoevolution.com/news/...olt-battery-for-newer-r1-vehicles-216823.html
It’s important to note that these 12V batteries power auxiliary systems and are unrelated to the expensive high voltage battery pack that the car uses to power the drive motors. The 12Vs are pretty easy and inexpensive to replace. It’s an inconvenience more than anything as it is a critical failure that prevents the car from driving if you have a dead battery (at least it is in my Tesla).
Honestly, I wouldn’t worry too much about it and sorry if I got you second guessing the decision. If you found a car that you like in the R1 shop and are ready to buy, I wouldn’t sweat it. The Rivian is a great vehicle and the R1S I got in December was built in August 2023 so chances are that any one that you get now will have incorporated the change anyway.
Hello Toronto!
We’re excited to announce the opening of our newest Service Center at 8311 Weston Rd in Vaughan, Ontario.
Having a Rivian Service Center nearby helps us ensure we’re able to give you the best ownership experience possible. It also means that in most cases, you can now take delivery of a Rivian vehicle in 4 months or less.
Stay tuned for more information on when demo drives become available.
We’ll be reaching out soon!
Hey Naivirivian,Hello! First post, yay me!
I pre-ordered in Nov 2019. R1T Launch Forest Green. Address is in Toronto 10 minute drive to Vaughan service center.
My estimated delivery date was Dec-Jan before the status changed to 'Processing Estimate'.
Seems as though others are getting their trucks, even with less favorable preorder dates. Is Rivian slower to release the Launch edition R1T's? Is there something else I may be overlooking?
Thanks!
Beyond the price of the car and before the GST, I had an additional $3,089 in fees. The big ones were Destination Fee ($2,600) and Documentation Fee ($300), and then there were a bunch of smaller environmental and plating fees. For anyone that has taken delivery, how much is delivery and did you have to pay luxury tax?
