Yeah. People should drive east to west across the northeen third of the Country.
i will amend slightly. People who live in the northern third of the country want to drive east and west but charging companies are making that difficult. From the perspective of a northerner it seems like the south is being carpet bombed with chargers while the north is largely ignored.

I'm not hating on your comment, but its funny we think this is "oversupplied" and oversaturated but to hear there are 100 gas pumps at the same intersection no one would flinch.
I struggled with the wording on that one, and its’s interesting to think about the inflection points in the charging market.

I’ve been through Green River a few times. The 4 stalls at the EA station have always been busy when I go through there, but I’ve never had to wait.

I always thought it was at a rough supply/demand match.

Tesla and Rivian are obviously building for future demand, and there’s a logic to what they’re doing. It’s just kind of fascinating to see this many chargers pop up within weeks of each other in a spot that has very few EV’s.

No complaints from me though. I’m just being reflective about how fast charging is changing.

I wish there were more of this in other charging deserts like NE, SD, ND, etc. 32 charging stations right near each other is awesome.
There are some proactive steps you can take.

I’m in Denver, and I recently mapped out a trip to Mt. Rushmore. Charging isn’t great in that area.

I wrote to South Dakota’s tourism commissioner saying that I want to come, but the lack of charging infrastructure is making it challenging.

I got a personal note back. He asked if he could share my email with state legislators in his push to get more DCFC installed to support the tourism industry.

It hasn’t turned into anything yet, but the more these state governments connect DCFC with tourism $, the quicker they’ll do something about it.

If lack of DCFC is impacting your spending in a state, tell someone about it.

There are also a lot more ICE cars than EVs so not surprising there are 100 gas pumps. Someday the numbers will switch and no one will bat an eye when there are 100 charging stations.

Agree. It's still difficult to get to some places and even some interstates are nearly a charging desert. Wish those states would pick up the pace and I'm especially disappointed that cabin county in Minnesota has such few chargers.

The latest updates in the RAN-sphere:

New permits have been filed and issued for a 10-stall RAN in Irvine, California (unless this is for another charging brand, though I doubt it)

The RAN in Lakewood, Colorado is now under construction at Colorado Mills Mall, and is conveniently located next to a Tesla Supercharger and Electrify America station. /s

Finally, permits are in for the addition of 8 dispensers at an upcoming Starbucks located directly off Interstate 90 along US-97.

And for Rivian Forums viewers only, enjoy this shitty render of the site (charger count not current).

That Ellensburg site is gonna be great for people with RVs - none of the Tesla or other chargers there have trailer friendly spots, and it's a natural stopping point moving across the state going from east to west.

Definitely agree. I have been plotting out what a trip from Seattle to Glacier NP would look like (with my RV in tow), and central WA was looking a bit rough. A trailer friendly charger in that location would make a huge difference.

Who remembers when charging at a RAN was free? I miss those days…
Yep, and I only got to use it once.
