My guess is they are waiting on a transformer from PG&E. It doesn't looks like Rivian is the hold up.

That switchgear cabinet has been installed for over a year, I think.

Asheville was on their original plan, which I refer to as the "strategic" plan for all 600+ stations. Nobody has ever seen permits or any hints of a specific location, and it's never been on their newer "coming soon" map. I'll be in Asheville soon-ish and am not looking forward to how much time I'll probably spend by that Sam's Club. I'm not a member, so I'm not sure if I'm even allowed in to use the bathroom.

It's expensive, but I would probably rather use the (annoyingly just 50kw) EVGo charger at Biltmore Park because there are at least a few good dinner spots and an REI to kill time. Unfortunately, it's been down for a while.

Once the Tesla adapter rolls out (and if I live long enough), there are 12 250kw tesla stations at Biltmore Park rendering all other charging stations moot.

I'm very confused about how you're supposed to park at this station but it looks potentially trailer friendly. Are these all pull-through spots? Is everyone supposed to be parked perpendicular to the camera's POV?

It looks like two pullthroughs and four parking places on either side of the row of four. And maybe even some waypoints there on the left?

Trick at these membership clubs is to say you're just buying alcohol. They can't force you to have a membership for alcohol purchases.

You got it. It's basically the same layout as the RAN station in Crescent OR. 2 trucks on either side of the row of chargers on the LHS and 2 spots to the right of the one on the RHS including trailer pull through.

I'd still like a RAN station in Asheville. I strongly suspect the RAN will be much cheaper for us than Tesla even after RAN stops being free.

Glad to see they are moving up the East Coast a bit. Can't wait for Belcamp to open and the one in Newburgh, NY so I can make a reliable EV trip to the Adirondacks and back!
