Am I crazy or do these numbers seem pretty off for what I should be getting? I know driving mode, driving style, cabin heat and ambient temp are all huge variables, but getting less than 1.5 mi/kwh tells me something isn't right. Sure the first 100 mi I had some fun driving in sport and did a few launches, but for the last 500mi I've been paranoid about getting the efficiency closer to 2mi/kwh where it should be, even with 20" AT. Those 500mi have been mostly 50/50 in conserve and all purpose, ambient temps have been 35-40 lows and 50-55 highs, hardly using any cabin heating/cooling, and I've been trying to drive as eco-friendly as possible. After around 300mi it reached 1.45-1.5mi/kwh and has stagnated since then. The range estimate on my dash ticks down about 1/3 faster than the actual miles I've driven. Yesterday I took a trip in conserve mode and after 100mi of range used, I only drove 69 miles and it was easy driving.

Also the total energy of 222.4 kwh seems so completely off. I think the truck has taken double that. 607/222 = 2.7mi/kwh (which would be phenomenal) but the truck has taken probably double that. I think the calculation of energy used is off by a factor of two. 697/444 = 1.36mi/kwh which makes more sense with the 1.48 I'm getting when you factor in phantom drain, gear guard, environmental, and all the other miscellaneous energy draws.

Even though I have less than 1000mi and have only had it 2 weeks, I think something is definitely wrong so I submitted a service request, they quoted me a few hundred bucks in diagnostics (and like 5 months away for the Bellevue center.... not happy about that wait), but this should be under warranty right?

It's a known bug that energy used is off in last update... they'll fix it.

Correct. I'd ignore the issue until it's fixed system wide
I have found that the efficiency number seems pretty close to the actual if not the exact calc

I just got the new update this morning and reset the trip meter. The energy used seems correct now. It shows 15.2 miles driven at 2.06mi/kWh and energy usage of 7.4kw.

If there is an actual problem then it would be covered under warranty. If they spend the time checking and there’s nothing wrong then you would have to foot the bill for the diagnostics and time.

I wouldn't care about the efficiency number if I was actually getting near the EPA range. But its a little hard to ignore when I'm only getting 200 miles on a full charge in conserve mode...

After the software update my energy used is now correct, tested by resetting trip b and matching it to the amount of energy added while charging over night.

Yeah that's concerning for sure. There are a couple of threads in the forums on batter efficiency and how to maximize it that are helpful. You pointed out that by and large you have incorporated some of these into your driving. Are a lot of your trips shorter in duration? If you're doing a lot of quick drives in winter then the efficiency is really poor. I've had days where my ave was about 1.2 miles / kw but also others where I've been over 2.5 in AP. There's a lot lot of variability

I don’t think anything is really off. This is my 3rd EV and all 3 have their range fall off a cliff in those temps, even though it’s not *that* cold. My Mach E would get almost 3 miles per kWh in summer but only about 1.6-1.8 miles per kWh in similar winter temps that you’re describing (and that car didn’t have vampire drain issues). If you have a lot of hills, not even mountains but just hills, it will be much worse.

I’m getting like 1.7-1.8 at best in my Rivian in those temps, which is pretty much what I’ve come to expect. It was a bit of a rude wake up call with my first EV, but now I’ve just gotten used to it. With your AT’s, it makes sense that your numbers a bit lower too. If you’re still not getting 2 miles per kWh in summer, that’s when you should worry.
