On a trip out to Grand Staircase Escalante recently I noticed the passenger side rubber trim on the hatch starting to detach. It doesn't appear to be held on by anything, and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this. I can of course glue it back on, but I'm not sure if that's a long term solution.

Rivian will replace it if you put in a service ticket... or you can get some 3M black weatherstrip adhesive and glue it yourself. Its one of those... how fast do you need it fixed situations.

Also... I didnt go outside to look at my neighbors R1T (I have an R1S), but I cant figure out which piece that is from the picture.

Thanks. The nearest service center is 2 hours drive, and it would be great to figure out how to get them to come to me to take care of this. This is the vertical edge of the upper part of the tailgate on the passenger side of my R1S.

BTW - the driver side A pillar trim also decided to come loose. I can push it back into place but it doesn't seem to be locked in any more.

I just realized you are talking about the R1S rear hatch. I checked mine and it is coming lose in the center. It appears it was attached using 3M heavy duty double sided tape from the factory. Ill most likely reply using the same tape or use the 3M weather strip adhesive.

I had Rivian replace that on one of our R1S and the new one is coming loose too. I think these strips are just meant to help control water when open, and wind noise vs water intruding into the vehicle.

Set up an appointment for a nearby service center in the app, then in the messaging part let them know you want/need this to be a mobile service appointment. They will schedule it and swap it to Mobile.

They don't offer Mobile as an up-front scheduling choice because, to my knowledge, a person has to review things you put in the request and determine if they can be done via mobile or not. You messaging them helps with this.

I've done this a few times and it works pretty well.

Appreciate that tip. Thanks!

I had the same issue right at the corner. I was going to suck it up and fix it myself but I thought Rivian can do better and should be aware of this issue. I submitted a service request for this and the SC replaced at no cost to me without ado.

I just realized it is (more) common.
