Awesome. More small imperfections and annoyances that would drive me insane if I took delivery right now.
I'm taking delivery this week picked from the shop and probably should've just waited another 2 months until my original build date was available but I doubt they would've fixed that many things during that wait.

I did this quick DIY project to significantly reduce the rattling from the dash mesh at the top. The rattling isn’t 100% gone, but it’s been reduced enough that I can wait for my service appt to see if they can do a better job.

I bought this window foam seal. https://www.homedepot.com/p/M-D-Bui...ndow-Seal-for-Large-Wide-Gaps-06635/100353487

I cut about a 1ft long strip. Then I wedged it into the gap between the mesh grill and the front windshield. See picture. Repeat other side.

You can use something plastic (eg from an auto panel kit) or even a wooden chopstick to wedge the foam into the gap. If you screw up, use needle nose pliers to gently bring the foam out.

(You can keep or remove the tape on the foam bottom… doesn’t really matter here)

I noticed this foam insert reduced/removed the amount of vibration that happens here, (where there seems to be some plastic on plastic contact).

It should be pretty simple project. Let me know if you have any questions or how it goes!

I just picked up my R1T and it has the same rattle. Love the truck, but hard to show it off to people on test drives with such a loud obvious problem. Have a ticket open but have not gotten a response yet. For now, I'll just keep turning up the radio!

Had this, and it was a simple press to secure one clip that wasn’t seated. Never came back.

We have (had) this too. They attempted to fix it when servicing but it was the same when they gave it back. I was able to get 3 clips to snap/lock back in on the speaker cover by the windshield. Hasn't rattled since so keeping my fingers crossed.
Would you mind showing (or generally describing) where the clip locations you pressed are at on the mesh grille area?

I have the rattle and it's getting worse by the day, but haven't had any luck finding the clip locations online and have pushed around all over w/o luck of clicking anything in.

May just not be pressing hard enough (worried about damaging something worse), and would be extremely helpful to have a general idea of where to press.

Sadly, my "temporary" fix at the moment is to throw my phone up there so it holds everything in place to minimize the rattling :CWL:

I have this same annoying issue. Can't request a service call cause Rivian still hasn't changed over ownership of the vehicle (been over 2 weeks). Will try the foam today and see what happens.

Good to know. I thought I heard this on some cobblestone for the first time in 20k miles but chalked it up to some loose items in my Frunk.

Had mine in for dash and other rattles. They fixed all but 1. Dash rattle now gone, they had to re-wire back passenger door (you could hear wire hitting the door), and some other lose parts in the back seat.

I only have a slight tick type sound from the driver door window.

(But they did nothing about the squeaking suspension - sounds like a station wagon from the 80s)

That's great they fixed something. Is your SC in Vancouver? Bellevue did nothing to fix my driver's side door rattle that only appeared after they took apart the door panel to replace a faulty door handle at a previous service appointment. Very frustrating.

And yes, the squeaking suspension is obnoxious. I told the tech working on my vehicle that it sounds like squirrels fighting and he laughed. The common statement I've here is that the know about it and are working on a solution. We'll see.
