Rivian Seizure

So I think I figured out when this occurs, but still don't know why. After going through a touch-free carwash, ? gets seizures and randomly sets off all the alarms, turns off Driver+, then goes back to normal in like a 5 second period. This happens 3-4 times for my 30 minute drive home.

Has anyone had this issue? Probably submitting a ticket just because it's annoying.

Bad ground or electrical short somewhere because of the car wash?

I'd check the suspension electrical connectors and make sure they are all properly seated.

Over 4 months is absurd. I know everyone will say...."call them...they will improve it"....but why even have a system if it this stupid?

Check the door wiring water seals/boots and see if one has become dislodged. Water gets into the contacts and weird things present themselves. I had similar but different errors when my driver door seal became compromised.

Start there and until the SC can inspect this rest.

You can call and ask to be routed to Auburn or Kirkland (though I heard Kirkland might be closed?) Not sure why we can't pick those from the app.

I picked a Portland date in May when I'll be in the area, they had as early as in a couple weeks. But I'll ask when they call to confirm issue.

The solution seems obvious to me. Stay out of the car wash. Let your R1T wear the dirt with pride, or as a last resort, hand wash.

No but open the door and look where the door wiring harness enters the chassis. There is a black rubber boot that snaps to the chassis and seals the connector, mine was loose and allowed water intrusion which compromised the connector.

Probably not your problem but the Rivian with its wading ability must have more than a few of these rubber boots on the wiring harness.

If you want an appt sooner call them and tell you don’t feel the vehicle is safe. I was told this when complaining about my motor noise. The woman was trying to be nice asking me if I felt unsafe because she could get me in sooner.

Ah I see it now. Left front and rear doors are fine, can't access others in the garage, I'll look at them in the morning.

Sometimes sealed connectors can have the seal get pushed away during assembly and then don't seal properly. When I first took my truck's bed panels off, I noticed that part of the seal for the tonneau cover motor was sticking out. I fixed it, but it for sure could have caused water intrusion issues with how distorted it was. Definitely made me wonder about all the other connectors in the truck, but I have not had water related issues at all.
