Looks like you have the switches backwards. 12A and 40A look similar but all in the opposite positions.

Yes, I understand the intent. They are trying to prevent someone from going in and over cooking a circuit once it is installed and setup but does make it harder to get the initial setup or upgrades handled.Oh, wow, that is not user controlled?
