I have had my R1S for a little over a month. Since the first week spots have progressively appeared on the seat and armrest. I wear a white dress shirt every day so definitely not from my clothing. Has this happened to anyone else? Any cleaning recommendations?

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Something got splattered on you then transferred to the seat and armrest. The scrape marks on the left kidney bolster indicate it was scraped against while getting out.

Is it a stain, or will it clean off (mild soap and water is fine on the seats - just don't soak into the perforations).

I would like to point out that I am not a forensic analyst so this all may be BS.

That said - did you take on a project and get dirty in the past few weeks that could have left something on the seat? It's entirely possible that whatever it is has decided to oxidize now and leave that residue/color.

I could see why it appears that way, but it was not a sudden splatter. The stains have progressively appeared over an approximately six-week period.

Sometimes a splatter will attract more dirt like a magnet especially if sticky. It will keep getting dirtier and may stain if you do not clean it off.

The splatter may not have even come from you. If you find it doesn't wash off, it could be some chemical that's deteriorating the pleather.

I'd try cleaning with mild water, if that doesn'twork, take some pics and add them to a ticket and get it looked at ASAP.

That describes oxidation, or something sticky grabbing dirt.

To me, it looks like wax stains I get on the beekeeping suit. They start out light, but over time the wax grabs more and more dirt, dust, debris, etc.

I will say, that isn't normal. Look up how to clean Tesla white seats, since their are a lot more of those driving around. Luckily I haven't had this issue, but I also drive with a neopreme seat protector on the drivers seat, to protect it from sweat at the gym.

Do you use any lotions or skin care products? That’s the only other thing I can think would cause it.

if not, I would have it detailed and see if the marks reappear. Possible it was there from delivery but over time changed color.
