The VW ID.4 also has a solid glass roof and a motorized shade. In both cases I think the tint is very different from what Rivian is offering.

I’m pretty sure I read that the Rivian glass rooof was tinted and/or treated to protect from UV exposure. So until more trucks are out there and we hear more about what daily life is like in one, I’m not stressing about it. That being said, I still ordered mine with the ocean coast interior with the thought it would stay cooler in a CO summer. And I’ll have ventilated seats to keep my twig and berries cool on the road.

One of the main reasons I went with the Adventure pack, the ventillated seats. That and I figured they'd produce the more expensive trim first. That is a great type of option for folks who want additional sun protection. I’m sure someone will be making them in short order if Rivian doesn’t have an option already.
I think @Blueassassin was talking about power retractable sunshades in the original post.

I have something similar that I bought from Amazon for my Model S. I use it in the summer and take it off in the Winter. It has a spring frame and comes off/goes on pretty easily. I suspect there will be 3rd party manufacturers for Rivian once the vehicle is delivered in quantity.
But I agree, a power sunshade would be better. The Lyriq also has a full glass pano roof and will have a power sunshade. I'll be sure to post once I get mine in a few months!

They did. It shades the bed.Why couldn't Rivian add a shade like this to the current roof?

For "not a big fan of sun roofs", you have one of the very nicest in that T-Bird of yours. That thing is beautiful! I have a friend here in the Portland area that specializes in '55-'57 T-Birds and the '56 is my favorite, especially in Peacock Blue. Is that the chrome band I see on the Continental Kit? Probably my favorite Ford of all time, including the Mustang, racecars notwithstanding.
If you're ever looking to move it, please message me. I'd be happy to put you in touch with my friend. He almost always has three or four for sale and several more he's restoring for others.

Yes, the Peacock Thunderbird does have the ultimate sun roof. His name is Norman T. Bird. We have had him since 1988. That is a chrome band around his spare time. I always thought that it looked better than the body color band.
You will also note that Peacock is pretty close to Rivian Blue. Coincide? I think not.
