Tail lights keep blinking

Thanks all. Nada here, yet. But this did encourage me to renew my ElectriFi subscription.

If I'm reading this right, it looks like mine just 'idled' all night long, and only slept for 1 minute. And wasted 3.73 miles worth of range / 1.40kWh during that time.

"Replace 12V battery" warning just came up.

Service just reached out and they changed something on the back end to fix the issue for me. The vehicle is now sleeping as expected. I hope they can fix everyone else affected just as easily!

Any idea of what they did? I listed Minneapolis and Dallas SCs in my ticket. Unfortunately the guy I spoke with hadn’t heard of the issue yet.

"Replace 12V battery" warning just came up.

I didn't want to jinx this by posting it earlier, but it's all telltale dying 12v signs... Mine was acting funky last week, sure enough, I got the same pop-up. They changed me out in under an hour with a next-day appointment, but kept 780 of my dollars.

A lot of us had 12v batteries changed under warranty around the same time. That's was like a year ago, right? Longer? It would follow that they all start to fail around the same time.

There's definitely something clicking, too. Sounds like it's coming from around the driver's fuse area. A relay? It's timing with the lights flashing. If I open the door it'll stop.

Oh and I definitely saw a mouse in that video. You need to find new help, I recommend terrier mixes

Mine was replaced last year in November. No way I'm paying them ~$800 for another one if this dies so soon.

I knew this was going to be the "side-effect" of this issue, hence why I rushed into service center. This idling puts unnecessart strain into the 12V (hence my recommendation to leave the truck plugged into an L2)

I doubt that's the case. I had the 12V failure last year, replaced under warranty, and I've been Anal about 12V upkeep (see here) and one of the tell-tell signs is the sleep/wake cycle getting shorter and shorter. In my case, my truck was sleeping like a baby until this issue popped up (14-16hrs of sleep easy, before a "charge wakeup")

Also, 2025.22 rollout begins this afternoon, so this might help?

No clue. They just said their engineer was able to “fix this on the back end” and they’re looking into what caused it.

FWIW - This is a Gen1 R1S quad motor. The 12V battery was replaced about a month ago under warranty.

With the shear number of people having this issue at the exact same time it HAS to be software/cloud related. I’m sure Rivian is very aware of this issue - I HOPE!

I'm getting the same random blinking and excess battery drainage. Soft reset did nothing…

hopefully there is a software update patch soon!

Maybe It’s a morose code, maybe your truck is trying to tell you something…

I’m having this same issue. I think it started yesterday. My VD has tripled, now over 5 kWh/day. Tried multiple soft and system resets with no luck. Tried camp mode - no luck. Oddly, if I sit in the truck, it stops. As soon as I get out, it starts up again. Go figure. Guess I’ll have to move out to the truck I was dreading having to take it in to the SC, but this sounds like something that can rectified over the air. C’mon Rivian! BTW, my 12v battery was replaced in January.

I would open a ticket with Rivian anyway, in case is a software fix that needs to be pushed, they will have you on the list... if not, at least they know is getting widespread.
