Tireject is the flat repair sealant included with our vehicles. I repaired a flat with it last night. It actually worked pretty well. I'm wondering if I need to get the tire repaired at this point? The Tireject website advertises that it's a permanent repair, but the Rivian manual states it's temporary and the tire should be repaired within 100 miles.
The hole is very repairable. It's right in the center in between the treads. The question is what kind of repair can be done? I am not sure anyone will put in a patch now that the interior of the tire is covered in sealant. I am thinking maybe I just leave it or put in a plug and leave it be. With the short tread life, I am not looking at more than 12-18 months before the tire is replaced anyway. I don't think spending $500 to replace a tire with 5k miles on it makes sense. Nor does it make sense to have Rivian repair it if they are going to charge $200 to send out a mobile tech to put in a patch. Thoughts?
