I have not heard anything lately about broken, missing underbody panels... Or loose, missing bolts. They finally got this addressed in the manufacturing process?

about a third of mine have sheared off but no panels have fallen off. I had mobile service up (3.5 hours from Chicago service center) and they didn't bring enough of the right size fasteners to replace the missing ones.

We had a December build/delivery. We had two bolts fixed. Service told us it was a limited issue of over torqued bolts and on most impacted vehicles they were in the same place. It sounds like this issue was quickly identified and fixed.

Over torqued? I had several that had been hand turned in about 3-4 threads and never torqued.

When I picked my R1T last Fri, I explicitly asked about this. They said that checking the bolts is on their pre-delivery checklist now.

I asked them to double check my car anyways. They did, and said it was good to go ?

Picked up in December, VIN 16XXX.
I'm driving to Chicago in a few weeks to get my missing (at least) 3 replaced.

One of them appeared to be over torqued, as I found the head broken off on my garage floor and I see part of it stuck in the body. The other missing ones are clear.

I'm pretty sure there's a 4th that needs replaced, as I picked up a bolt in the front tire that looks suspiciously identical to the head ones in the fenders. Think Rivian will cover my tire cost?

If you saved the bolt and have a picture of it in the tire I’d think they would be hard pressed to not give you a new tire. Pretty obvious evidence of cause and effect at that point.

Yes, ours were over torqued to the point where the heads snapped off.

Sounds like they tried both extremes. Just hand thread a few times and ship it out and then next version...torque to shear....

Here's what i found out about this from last year.
June 10, 2022
MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATION NUMBER: RCA-60-22-001-1
Components: STRUCTURE, EQUIPMENT
NHTSA ID Number: 10215463

Manufacturer Communication Number: RCA-60-22-001-1

Summary

Rivian is initiating a customer satisfaction campaign for some 2022 R1T vehicles that may have been built with weakened fasteners that secure some underbody panels. Heavy impact to the underbody panels could cause the fasteners to shear off and the underbody panels to become loose. If a significant number of the fasteners are broken there is a possibility that the panel could drag on the ground or detach from the vehicle, though this condition has not been observed to date in any customer vehicle. Rivian will replace these fasteners. Rivian is launching this campaign for customer satisfaction and to ensure the quality of Rivian vehicles.

I don't think the fasteners have a specific torque as the tech who replaced some of mine used a drill-screwdriver.

I finally got around to checking my bolts. One missing, one finger tight (I was able to loosen it by hand) and my front RUS panel looks like there was a resin issue, is that something I should be worried about?
Sorry about the camera angles, it's hard to get a good shot under the truck...
