Over torqued? I had several that had been hand turned in about 3-4 threads and never torqued. We had a December build/delivery. We had two bolts fixed. Service told us it was a limited issue of over torqued bolts and on most impacted vehicles they were in the same place. It sounds like this issue was quickly identified and fixed.
If you saved the bolt and have a picture of it in the tire I’d think they would be hard pressed to not give you a new tire. Pretty obvious evidence of cause and effect at that point.Picked up in December, VIN 16XXX.
I'm driving to Chicago in a few weeks to get my missing (at least) 3 replaced.
One of them appeared to be over torqued, as I found the head broken off on my garage floor and I see part of it stuck in the body. The other missing ones are clear.
I'm pretty sure there's a 4th that needs replaced, as I picked up a bolt in the front tire that looks suspiciously identical to the head ones in the fenders. Think Rivian will cover my tire cost?
Yes, ours were over torqued to the point where the heads snapped off.Over torqued? I had several that had been hand turned in about 3-4 threads and never torqued.
Sounds like they tried both extremes. Just hand thread a few times and ship it out and then next version...torque to shear....Yes, ours were over torqued to the point where the heads snapped off.
