R1S G1 Highway Assist no longer available after recent 2026.15.0

The issue is resolved for me after I performed the hard reset (left steering wheel button + hazard), then enabling the privacy settings.

From my experience, I would suggest, perform hard reset first (RivAw was right, don't waste time with soft reset). Hopefully this clears out whatever stale and un-sync'd cloud settings may exist.

Then check the privacy settings per the video guide.

After the reset, I was prompted with a very detailed navigation privacy acceptance dialog and the only button choice was "Allow". I have not seen this before.
Next, I went into the privacy settings menu. I noticed all of the setting where off by default now, so I flipped them all on.

Prior to the hard reset I did try to follow the privacy settings toggle mentioned in the video, but that didn't work for me either. Roughly half of privacy buttons were enabled, so I turned the rest of them on. Still didn't work. Hard reset was needed to resolve. YMMV

After the 2026.15.0 update last week, the HWA icon no longer shows up on the same roads (regardless of time of day, even overcast days). I did a soft reset, and the icon showed up again, but within a few seconds after enabling, I get the 'take over' notification with no reasons or other messages. On subsequent drives (even after parking, and overnight), the icon never shows up again. Anyone else have this issue?

I was having the same problem. Yesterday, I did a hard reset, and so far everything is back to working like normal.

I nearly get faults every drive since that last update and now lately my auto lane change will show a red line and it says something along the lines of: "Auto lane change not allowed on this road" on basically any stretch of the freeway. It still is universal hands free and I have the subscription so safe to say something in the latest update just fucked it up for some of us.

The worst is when it turns off its fairly instant and one time it did it during a turn which... as you would imagine with hands free, is a terrible thing.

The latest OTA was the buggiest release I've seen in four years. Highway assist is completely nerfed on our R1's despite hard resets and repeatedly resetting the privacy settings.

Those settings are in the vehicle setup menu under "data and privacy". Basically they should all be turned on but they're getting turned off.

Same issue with my G2 R1TDM. When I tried to set driver assist I’d get the failure bells and a message “feature not available” AND there was a message about privacy settings need to be enabled. I found several of the options turned off and re-enabled them. You have to do this while parked so haven’t tested yet. Also, asking RA to enable your privacy settings while driving doesn’t work - nice message about unable to change navigation settings while in motion.
