Wonder how it knows something or someone is moving around in the Gear Tunnel? I'll have to throw some of my kids in there this afternoon and test that out!
I wonder if that is a fake post. I have not seen a red error message like that before and I don't see how something being loose in there is a Red situation. And frankly if I put a person in there, it would not be moving. Unless GOD father wrote the error message to alert the driver of a whack job gone wrong.

This error is legit and has happened to members of this forum. @Riviot has had it happen more than once IIRC.

Someone in Rivian must have put a bowing ball in there, took it on twistiest to see if the door opens to determine this as necessary. R1T is a little too smart for me. They need to dumb it down. I feel like for every new sensor born, there are thousands of new frustrated owners.

I had a similar warning, but IIRC it was about something in the bed vs. the gear tunnel. I opened and shut the tailgate and it went away.

Took me a minute to figure out why I couldn't view this thread, I ignored @Max and the above comments confirms why I did.

Rivian R1T R1S R1 issues for new owners PXL_20220607_222133849

I still get this daily. It used to be going over bumps but now it's random. I came out to my truck this afternoon after it sat doing nothing since 730 and it was going off. I think it's a loose conductivity sensor in the retention clip. I'd like to see them take it apart and see how it works, but they haven't called to talk about this service since I requested it again.

Sandy Munro was critical about the wood trim. Seems that frayed wood is a result if their design/manufacturing process. Probably wont get “fixed” unless they change the design
The veneer seems to be on the thin side, and whatever the substrate is(fibreglass?) hasn't had its edges smoothed off well enough, from the looks of it

If it’s thinner than what is normally used in luxury cars I am surprised it has any texture at all ?

My spare tire storage compartment lid doesn't always "catch/latch" all the way down, and have to push extra hard to get it to latch all the way down. When it isn't all the way down, the plastic cover on the inside of the tailgate will grab the spare tire compartment lid and not slide over it properly. Remedy for me is to always push the lid down extra hard on the right side. Not sure will work for you.
According the tech that addressed this issue for me (right side lid no-latch) this is a "common problem ". The "solution" is that the user should push heavily on the right side of the spare tire lid to ensure it is completely closed. ?

For me, this is how it works best. Latch right side with good push first, then move to left and push it down. Works everytime...and no big deal.

Have a couple of new issues to report from my delivery this weekend. Loving the car but just want to add to the knowledge base

1. Weird crunch sound when closing tail gate…found out the spare cover on my car doesn’t lie flat and sticks up on the right side and gets caught on the tail gate when pushing it up so it catches on the edge.

2. first use of power tonneau left a nice long scratch along the top, fresh at the delivery center. Delivery advisor said it was common, new one might do the same

3. Weird vibration from the AC compressor, makes my dash/steering column buzz, but can’t get it to consistently occur so I haven’t created a service ticket for it.

I tried to use my windshield washer today for the first time and no fluid would come out. I bought a gallon of windshield wiper fluid and it took about half a gallon to top it off. I ran the windshield washer for a minute and nothing came out. Then try it again for another minute and nothing sprayed out. Had to create a service ticket for this. Wondering if anybody else had This issue.

I just picked up my 1rt in Bellevue wa. The top of the car - the one part I didn’t inspect - was actually really scratched. Check your roof!!

Mine works, but seems to spray only the lower part of the windshield. Not a major issue since the wind blows it up the windshield when I’m driving.
