Who knows.....Rivian isn't communicating anymore on the topic so it is a wild guess unfortunately. Possibly never. Also possible Tesla potentially could back track and remove access to non-Tesla entirely.
There was a small update given to some press during the refresh event. Rivian expects to start shipping more adapters again, after a delay due to "supply chain issues" (i.e. Tesla is dropping the ball) and Rivian is looking into whether they can source adapters from another supplier. I'm guessing some of that is them having to convince Tesla to sign off on it. Some of it will also be finding a third party manufacturer who can meet the spec, QA, and cost parameters.

I hope so...I am very much near front of line and since I am in dark....I can only imagine how long till they can actually deliver with new deliveries, which I think is most beneficial to sales.

I had a chance to borrow a neighbors official Tesla adapter (from Ford), and tested it against the Lectron and A2Z. Lectron was by far the highest quality build. It feels the most solid, and the disconnects are firm. The A2Z adapter, is smaller, which I like, but the constitution doesn’t feel as quality as the Lectron or OEM Tesla adapter. Additionally, the A2Z adapter’s sliding locking mechanism is not a good design, IMO. I found myself needing to be more careful when connecting and disconnecting with the vehicle and NACS dispenser.

I kept the Lectron adapter and sold the A2Z locally.

I will also add as a disclaimer, that I did receive the faulty/recalled Lectron adapter, however was able to get a replacement, no questions asked.

The inconvenient truth is outside of those directly involved at Tesla and Rivian, no one knows. So it’s moot to ask. Spend the time to know the A2Z and Lectron adapters, understand/accept the potential risks and just get one. If Rivian has not contacted you to confirm address, then you are not getting one anytime soon. Forget it. Move on.

I have no issues with A2Z’s quality or slide lock. The distance the slide travels is short and the tactile feedback is subtle. Plus, there are no high contrast visual reference to see easily that it is either locked or not. But these are very minor gripes since all you have to do is give the adapter and plug a quick tug to confirm lock. And it will not charge if not locked. So the slider is the first place to check if charging fails to start.

too bad A2Z doesn't have any adapters. ordered a month ago and nary an update. perhaps Rivian will beat them to the finish line at The Count's house?

Just tell them you have a trip coming up and need it asap. I heard that works.

Lead time for A2Z is about 4 weeks. You are probably days away from receiving notice of a shipping label being created. From there it's about 48 hours before any movement in tracking.

I got my rivian December 2022 and haven't received one. I opt in the email for one as soon as it became available too opt in.
Just an FYI - you're over a year behind the first customer deliveries which started in September 2021. This is going to take a while.

I was against getting a third party adapter, but....I now own an A2Z. Ya know....just in case. Took 4 weeks to receive.

Our R1S is in upper 800 range. What VIN are they shipping out to most recently?
Widely speculated they are going by delivery date. R1S production started later than T, so even early VIN doesn’t mean you can expect “soon”. Things could have gone as planned, but a certain manchild had to fire the whole team and throw his weight around. Now, there’s zero transparency and Rivian isn’t talking. Ford at least provide updates to say “delayed”. Just order an aftermarket one. Doesn’t hurt to have backup in the future.
